Human Beings are often claimed to be the smartest and most intelligent species on earth. But are we talking 2024? Can we still agree to this?

Say for instance, you are competing to gain something you want or to be able to win that. You are the best at it and one day suddenly someone or in this context lets say something crosses over you and takes up that spot.

This “something” has a name. Artificial intelligence.

Consider AI and how it has changed the world in the past 2 years, taking jobs from many and accelerating life, but at what cost?

Technically I could be writing this blog using AI. “Hey ChatGPT, please write me a blog on blah blah cause I don’t think I am as good enough cause it’s all new for me”. But where is my creativity in this? Am I learning anything?

The question here is, Is AI making us smarter? Or just dumber?

That’s a question I’ve had in my mind for quite sometime, unable to answer it because who are we kidding, An easier life means a smoother life, right. No wait let me frame this again. An easier life means a smoother life, right?Still a question mark.

We all need to accept change. By this, I mean how AI is disrupting traditional search methods. We don’t just google anymore, do we?

A lawsuit by The New York Times could test the emerging legal contours of generative A.I. technologies. Diving into the buzz around The New York Times ( the first major American media organization to sue the creators of ChatGPT and other popular A.I. platforms) taking on OpenAI and Microsoft, it’s like we’re at a major crossroads for digital culture and creativity. This whole deal — where tons of articles got used to teach AI chatbots, kind of stepping into the news game — really puts the spotlight on how we mix innovation with respecting the folks who create stuff in the first place.

Look at how AI helped make this image for me!!

“If The Times and other news organizations cannot produce and protect their independent journalism, there will be a vacuum that no computer or artificial intelligence can fill” the complaint reads.

It’s super clear we need some straight-up, fair rules that give creators their due while still pushing the tech envelope. It’s like trying to keep the car on the road without swerving off into the ditch of stifling progress or, on the flip side, ripping off the artists and writers who fuel our brains.

This lawsuit? It’s way more than just a courtroom drama. It’s like a wake-up call for everyone making, using, or getting impacted by AI to think hard about how we do this ethically. Watching this unfold, I’m really hoping we land on a way forward that gives a thumbs up to both the genius behind tech advancements and the hardworking creatives who make the content we can’t live without.

Here’s to hoping for a future where tech and creativity aren’t at odds but are partners in making the digital world a richer, fairer place for all of us. Here’s to AI making us dumber? Or maybe just….
