AI is a constellation of technologies — from machine learning to natural language processing — that allows machines to sense, comprehend, act and learn. Artificial intelligence will transform the relationship between people and technology, charging our creativity and skills. The future of AI promises a new era of disruption and productivity, where human ingenuity is enhanced by speed and precision.

What’s innovative about it:some examples

Alexa:Alexa was the first ‘intelligent personal assistant’ developed by Amazon. Alexa is capable of voice interaction, music playback, setting alarms, streaming podcasts, and playing audio books.

Siri:Apple’s friendly personal assistant, Siri, will help you search google, give directions, add events to your personal calendar, send your messages etc.

Netflix:Machine learning algorithms. Netflix analyses billions of records based on your feedback and suggests the next best fitting shows. One major drawback is that major movies are frequently referenced, watched, liked, and shared. Movies or TV shows with smaller audiences are left on the outskirts.

Tesla:Tesla cars have predictive capabilities, self-driving features, and have the advantage of collecting data from the entire fleet to survey driver behavior. How it can help with lead generation, customer retention

What are the pluses and minuses of this trend

The advantages

Dealing with mundane tasks:Artificial intelligence has the potential to complete mundane tasks through intricate automation that will increase productivity. Theoretically this can even remove “boring” tasks from humans and free them up to be increasingly creative.

Faster decisions:Using artificial intelligence alongside cognitive technologies can help make faster decisions and carry out actions quicker.

Avoiding errors:With artificial intelligence, data could be processed error-free, no matter how big the dataset might be

Taking risks on behalf of humans:With artificial intelligence, you can arguably lessen the risks you expose humans to in the name of research.

The disadvantages

Job losses: Arguably, robots have already taken many jobs on the assembly line — but now this could extend to new levels.

Distribution of power: Artificial intelligence carries the risk, in the minds of some, of taking control away from humans — de-humanising actions in many ways.

Lack of judgement calls: Humans can take unique circumstances and judgement calls into account when they make their decisions, something that artificial intelligence may never be able to do.

Do you think this is a fad or will be around for a while

AL is “one of the major forces for society and lifestyle of the next decade”, AI provides businesses with tremendous opportunities — hence all the buzz around AI outsmarting us and making us obsolete. AI could help companies win the fight against counterfeiting and protect brands’ profit and reputation. This is just a small portion of what AI can do, and as this technology continues to progress, we can expect even more innovative applications in the future.

Why you would or would not recommend it to a client

1 AI automates repetitive learning and discovery through data. 2 AI adds intelligence to existing products. 3 AI adapts through progressive learning algorithms to let the data do the programming. 4 AI analyzes more and deeper data using neural networks that have many hidden layers. 5 AI achieves incredible accuracy through deep neural networks — which was previously impossible. 6 AI gets the most out of data.
