I think we should pay attention to the technology development for the augmented reality in digital marketing. The most apparent feature of augmented reality which interested me a lot is the combination of the real world and the virtual information from computer technology. The innovation is that it adds more attention to the connection with the real-world environment than VR(virtual reality), which puts the experiencer in a totally virtual environment. The technology of augmented reality can let the new customers have the first try and let them become interested in it. This new experience of augmented reality for customers can create talk points in the social environment definitely. This can be a good way to help with lead generation. For customer retention, this industry can make collaborate with game companies or mobile application companies to increase the good feeling for user experience which can retain most customers. One way for sales is that these companies can also invite celebrities to experience these new services which can lead the trend in public.

One of the advantages of augmented reality is that it can encourage people to go out for walking, exercising, and hanging out. Compared with VR, AR connects more with the real social environment. The limitation is that it needs a strong network signal for mobile phones. However, there are many areas in the world that can not enjoy this kind of service because of the poor network service. Without a network, it will be nothing. In my opinion, this trend of AR can keep for a long while. Because of the fast flow of urban life, especially for the younger generation, we have less opportunity and time to travel. This technology can connect the virtual scenes with our daily social environment which lets us can enjoy other different views in our familiar environment. AR can be the new and hot industry for the younger generation. I would like to recommend it to a client because it can serve the convenience and add colors for our daily lives, and encourage us to go for exercising and to hang out with friends. AR may be affected part in a post-COVID-19 world. Because we’d better stay at home during the epidemic, and the areas can be used is limited. It may not as interesting as the scenes outside, but we can also enjoy it partly at home. AR somehow enlarges people’s world and makes more interesting things reachable. Maybe with the development of technology, people can stay in quarantine with no diminution of joyfulness someday.
