Welcome to my third blog! In this blog, we will dive into the user experience of Bobica(Bo-Bee-Ka) Bar from its website and see if it is a positive customer experience that achieves business objectives.

Before evaluating whether Bobica Bar develops a positive UX for its customers, let me first introduce this protein bar(you probably have yet to hear about it) and tell you some key aspects of UX from my perspective.

Bobica Bar

Founded by Rowan University students Harrison Nastasi and Justin Iannelli, Bobica Bars is a health-conscious brand that creates superfood-glazed granola bars as a portable and nutritious snack. The bars are allergen-free and made without gluten, dairy, soy, tree nuts, or peanuts, making them suitable for individuals with dietary restrictions.

Aspects of UX

  • Usability: How easy is the website to use
  • Accessibility: Is the website accessible to all users
  • Interaction Design: How does the website respond to user actions
  • Visual Design: How is the aesthetics of the website
  • Information Architecture: How the website organizes and structures information for its users

Now, let’s take a deep look at Bobica Bar’s website and find out whether it fits all the aspects.

Usability

After tapping into the website, you will see a video campaign describing Bobica Bar and information in the upper place. The video will show immediately after clicking it, either from desktops or mobile devices. When you scroll down, it is easy to find all the information, such as menu options, the company’s mission, etc. Therefore, the website's usability is viable and easy to navigate for any info.

Accessibility

There are no pop-up warnings showing that the information on this website is restricted to certain people. Anyone can access the website from desktops or mobile devices. The font is quite extensive, making the website accessible for those with a visual disability. Therefore, the website's accessibility is favorable.

Interaction Design

The interaction design of the Bobica Bars website is simple and functional but could be more engaging. Fundamental interactions are straightforward, like navigating between products and adding items to the cart. However, limited dynamic features, such as hover effects or visual feedback during interactions, could enhance user engagement. In addition, forms and buttons work as expected, but adding more interactive elements, such as product animations or quick-view popups, could improve the overall user experience.

Visual Design

The Bobica Bars website's visual design is clean and minimalist, just like the company’s objective of providing healthy and natural ingredients to consumers. The color scheme is pretty impressive and attractive, with blue and pink, which reminds me of the ocean and vacation. The layout is straightforward, with plenty of white space, making the site easy to navigate and visually appealing. However, it could benefit from more engaging design elements like interactive visuals or richer imagery to create a stronger emotional connection with the product and customers.

Information Architecture

The Bobica Bars website's information architecture is straightforward, with a clear and organized structure. The navigation is simple, featuring main sections like products, about, and the shopping cart. I really like the comparison chart between Bobica Bar and other protein bars, which makes Bobica Bar more competitive after looking at the simple comparison. However, the depth of the content is limited. For a better user experience, the site could benefit from more detailed product descriptions, FAQs, and customer reviews to help users make informed decisions.

Conclusion

The Bobica Bars website provides a generally positive customer experience with a clean visual design, straightforward navigation, and simple interaction design. However, it could benefit from more interactive features, richer content, and probably a loyalty program to fully achieve business objectives, such as maximizing customer engagement and conversions.

What is your impression after clicking on Bobica Bar’s website?
