Many changes have taken place in people’s shopping habits during the pandemic. People are more accustomed to shopping online, especially on Thanksgiving this year, and major retailers even closed their stores on Thursday.

Target stated that they have closed their “Thanksgiving Night” operating hours forever. Target believes that people are no longer used to shopping in physical stores on Thanksgiving night, and people can buy promotional products in online stores in advance. Moreover, many retailers have also imitated this business model, they no longer open in-store shopping and Thanksgiving, they only allow pick-up.

This is a big change, because shopping on Thanksgiving is a family activity for many people, which makes me feel the beginning of an e-commerce era due to the impact of the pandemic.

As a marketer, I hope that my future customers will also have the future potential of a generation of digital marketing, because people’s living habits have changed. I hope they can know the following five things so that they can have better returns and performance.

1. We Are Selling, Marketing or Telling a Story

Let consumers remember your story. You are not just a shelf, in fact, you are also a narrator. When we talk about a certain product, we can easily recall their campaign, value and story. This is the charm of content marketing. Since a product is very abstract, when the product is given a story, it has its own soul. Even if companies are good at strategy and 3c and 4p, for consumers, they can only remember the story and value of the product. Our first purpose is to let consumers know and remember our products. So, tell a good story.

2. We care about your privacy

Your privacy is being protected. Google announced that a total ban on third-party cookies in 2023 will be banned. This means that marketing activities must put privacy issues in the first place. Consumers will not pay for things that are disgusting and disgusting. Please make your consumers feel safe.

3. A good SEO strategy can help you

Find each other quickly. Whether it’s this blog or an online store website, we all need to quickly appear on the consumer’s computer or mobile phone screen. We need to help search engines and buy keywords so that our consumers can see our ads or content when they conduct organic searches. Consumers want to solve a certain problem, and our SEO strategy is to try to reach consumers in the fastest way.

4. Email marketing strategy has advantages

Don’t worry, this approach is not outdated. According to Validity’s Email Marketing Report 2021, “Email marketing remains a crucial channel for many organizations due to its accessibility, ease of use, and effectiveness in reaching target audiences”. Emails can be delivered to your target customers accurately. Although marketers still feel challenged and entangled because of the open rate and conversion rate. However, there are still a certain number of consumers who will open your email, please don’t give up on them. You can use A/B testing to understand the reading habits of your target customers.

5. Keep your UI/UX and brand tone in line

To make your consumers feel comfortable, please use aesthetics and consistency. Consumers like brands to provide them with unique value, and your web design and brand tone also determine consumer attitudes towards you. Just like you know a new friend, is it easier for you to remember the posture and tone of voice when it speaks? Please let your consumers think that you are an interesting new friend.
