According to this breaking news, CleverTap, a startup company founded in 2015 that does mobile analytics and mobile marketing, has announced that it has required $35 million Series C funding for mobile marketing. Now, the total value of the company is $385 million, a huge leap from $150 million at the beginning of 2019.

For those who don’t know, Seris C funding takes place when investors think the company is mature enough and ready to develop a new product, expand into a new market, or acquire another company. In this case, CleverTap has decided to use the money on engineering hub, predictive capabilities, and market expansion. This will definitely benefit its current major customers: Domino’s, 7-Eleven, ESPN, and Sony. Despite all in a different industry, all four company has one thing in common, that they all have a global market. As we know that the App Store is different in each country, CleverTap now can have more international offices to help out its customers in the global market. They will definitely have to hire local talents to help CleverTap with its customers on local mobile marketing strategies. For instance, in Taiwan, 7–11 is literally everywhere in any city. One special service that 7–11 in Taiwan has is to receive and deliver packages for customers. By choosing the closest 7–11 nearby, customers can pick up or deliver a package anytime on the way home from work. We can also buy concert tickets or pay fines at 7–11. All these services are something that American 7–11 doesn’t have. Therefore, when making mobile marketing for 7–11 in the Taiwanese area, CleverTap needs to focus on addressing these features that have been part of Taiwanese’s life.

As mentioned in my previous blog, mobile marketing has been so important, credited to the increase in time spent on mobile devices. Mobile marketing has been and will be a significant spend in the marketing budget. This trend also creates the need for mobile marketing and analytics and an opportunity like CleverTap to shine. However, it is still surprising that a startup company can grow so fast and have customers who have huge markets in the U.S. and outside of the U.S.

I am expecting to see CleverTap becoming a global brand, helping international companies carry out mobile marketing strategies. At the moment, it is already powerful since its major customers can bring a number of opportunities for the company. With the Series C funding, investors and the company itself have faith as they are moving forward for a bigger future.

Your last week could be fine, but this week will be awesome!
