Coronavirus. Wash your hands. Quarantine. Lockdown. Global Recession.

Yes, this new virus has taken over the world and needless to say there is not much we can do about it, except taking the right precautions.

It wouldn’t be wrong to say that this pandemic has caused the entire world at a standstill.

Businesses have incurred heavy losses and are continuing to do so. While canceling my Spring travel plans, I came across this article on Hotel Online — The B2B News Source — Events Cancelled Due to Coronavirus? Here’s How to Replace Lost Business. The article talks about how businesses can cover up their losses and continue working. One way they can do it is through Content Marketing.

How Content Marketing will help?

Content marketing is a strategy that focuses on building strong, valuable relationships with your target audience by giving them high-quality content that is very relevant to them consistently.

Based on this strategy, businesses can produce and distribute materials designed to engage clients and inform them on various topics, drive awareness, website traffics and sales leads.

Some efficient ways could be:

  • Hosting a seminar
  • Creating blog and website content
  • Publishing a guide
  • Writing relevant case studies
  • Shoot a video
  • Firing up social media channels

The article states that no matter what we should keep moving no matter what uncertainty. During a time when people are avoiding events and gatherings, a well-executed content strategy plan will help the business stay visible and relevant. You don’t want to lose touch when everything returns to normal right? Every business should do visible content to stay relevant even in a pandemic.

What are my views?

I, completely second to what the article says, we have technology at our disposal to help us through this rough situation, so why not make optimum use of it. Everyone is stuck with how to go out with their work because maybe such a situation has never arisen.

I feel that this article is a motivation for everyone that work should continue and we must make use of all our resources.

  • Hosting a seminar as a webinar can be beneficial and still allow people to be connected, where they can discuss the relevant topics. This could be recorded and put for the public to see and draw their attention as well.
  • Writing blogs will help businesses stay relevant and you never know they may draw more attention towards their brand.
  • Firing up social media will help them stay connected to their target audience because currently, everyone is on their social media channel trying to kill time. So why not use this time and engage your target audience using social media. Choosing relevant topics of discussion will still help your business to be in focus.
  • Make e guides, make them visually appealing to your target audience, keep them updated with numbers and statistics and offer your audience some additional incentives so that when the pandemic ends they turn to you and use your services.
  • Creating one-minute videos and posting them on social media channels drives more engagement. If your target audience is of a younger generation they might prefer video content and creating a video with edgy content will keep your business relevant.

“Life is like riding a bicycle, to keep your balance, you must keep moving.”

-Albert Einstein

All these activities will help make sure that businesses continue working efficiently. Client engagement will continue and they are visible to their target audience which will help in conversions and sales when things get back to normal.

Conclusion

Its a difficult time for a lot of business, but still keep running is the key to success. Having the right resources to perform the above activities is extremely necessary. If you have them make use of them and don’t lose touch with your customers.

There are hundreds of companies that may offer the same services that you offer, but make sure you stay ahead with time because you need your customers more than they need you.

Create interesting and shareable content!
