Crate & Barrel: “Easy peasy, convenient and trendy”

Do you want to know what I like the most about Crate and Barrel? EASY PEASY! it’s their convenient, modern and trendy designs, not just within their products, but also in their online platforms.

So I’ll tell you a cool fact: Crate and Barrel has figured it out how to make it in the furniture and home accessories industry in a great way by not only offering design, basic items, quality and style in their products, but because you can also find them everywhere and they are just wherever you need them, and now…just a click away!

So, further in this blog I’ll explain more about what this company is doing for us and our homes, especially in their new app.

“Pleasant experience”

So, when I first opened the app, I realized about something AMAZING that usually not every brand has, which is that they don’t ask you to register with your email or phone number to be able to enter their platform, which is FANTASTIC because they don’t compromise you at all. Could you believe that? I love Crate and Barrel even MORE!

Another cool finding was that the main menu is very easy to understand since you only have 3 simple options to choose:

1. Shop

2. Gift Registry

3. Manage a Crate & Barrel Credit Card

If you press the “shop” button, the app immediately will take you to an easy journey of online shopping. The whole platform is very useful because they have few options and inside of it you are able to find exactly what you want because they use the right words. So, the content and wording are extremely important for this type of apps, because if not, their consumer or potential client will get bored and eventually leave the site in within seconds.

The design itself is created with the support of a research team that behind the scenes have made an investigation and interviews to lots of people of their target in order to find an insight of how their app should work. I say this because their user experience and details are very intuitive and it looks like they’ve made a lot of research of their client’s mind because the app makes the shopping or reviewing of the products a much more pleasant experience.

“Creativity with just a click”

A great aspect about this app was that I got distracted by watching an option called “Faves”, and I really liked that fat, WHY? Because even though this company is very serious and stylish with high quality products, they were able to attract their target (a modern and millennial audience) by using terms that usually are more informal, and used it like an “elegant slang” that way they made their target get identified with their purpose.

Also, as soon as I pressed that interesting option I could find that they were very innovative in making different scenarios of how to decorate your own space with their ideas and products and that was an illustration of how to use creativity in order to attract different targets.

“Journey to success”

I found that the app was very easy to use and navigate due to its colors, fonts, spacing and also because they’ve organized the whole platform so that the client can find what they want without going through every single option.

I believe that this platform has succeeded by accomplishing the client’s needs on making them a creative scenario and alternatives so that they could spent just a few minutes inside the app and then have a fast and easy shopping experience by just selecting the desired items, putting them into a shopping cart and click! Payment is done! They’ve made the experience of searching new and trendy products into a weekly routine for every client.

Who doesn’t want to check every few days what cool items does C&B has launched? or, what decoration ideas they suggest?… And even better… what’s in SALE?

“What’s next?”

I would love to see in the future that this app applies augmented reality design, because it would be very innovative to picture how your desired furniture of C&B will look like in your home, and that could include measurements, colors and different features of the product that would make the shopping experience not only faster, but also convenient, fun and accurate.

I would have to say that this app is very easy and comfortable to use therefore the shopping experience is be very effective since they drive you through the payment as soon as you pick the items. Also, the fact that they offer you in a “smooth way”, their own brand’s credit card, makes the purchasing more resourceful and also customer centric since they are giving people affordable options to complete the transaction.

“Final thoughts”

I would consider that this app is successful because it is made for a millennial audience that usually want everything right away, in a convenient manner, receiving creative ideas of decoration by a proactive brand (without neglecting the modern and trendy designs), they just want everything to be convenient and easy!

In my opinion, everyone should download this platform for the following reasons:

  • First of all, they won’t even ask you for your personal information.
  • Second, you can navigate freely without feeling the pressure of adding any item, and without seeing any publicity.
  • Third, their designs and creative decoration ideas are very pleasant and gives you a relaxing mood.

Hence, the fact that I have it in my phone makes me feel that I have the support and backing up of a modern company with good quality that will help me find the right items and the trendiest ones for my home, with just a click away!
