Curious About How Others Feel About Me, So I Took The Fascinate Test

Actually, I’ve been thinking about this question for a while, probably since I started my master’s in Integrated Marketing at NYU: How should I brand myself in life that makes me unique while still authentic? All of us are rich in minds and merits, however, because we are too plentiful, it will bring distractions to our uniqueness. It seems like if we get the right branding for ourselves, we could augment our specialty and make us more fascinating. Otherwise, “Wise minds are always alike”. Clear self-branding can help us gather people who share a similar vision around us, so we can work hard together towards our goals. But there’s never an easy answer to this kind of question. Self-recognizations are always different from others’ judgments. We need help from others to dig out our potential. That why I feel The Fascinate Test is amazing!

My archetype is “the architect”

The whole test consists of 28 plain questions. After answering these questions, the result, your archetype, will pop up.

My archetype is the architect, which is comprised of prestige and mystique.

Thoughtful and analytical, you remain coolheaded under pressure and you won’t be rushed into decision-making.

In team meetings, you only speak when you can add value to a discussion. This doesn’t mean you’re afraid to speak up.

You make your points and speak with conviction when you feel it is required.

I found that is fun. Because I never thought I am that kind of person who could be described by the intimidating word “prestige”. Until I read the description, I just realized that I am indeed results-oriented. I do like setting goals for me every time when doing tasks. And my teammates do usually like my opinions when I propose one. I used to treat these as normal life routines. I never thought these habits could be advantages I can use. Now, I’m thinking about how can I better use my “prestige” to act in life. I haven’t got the answer right now, but it could probably be part of my branding content.

Initially, I feel surprised about my dormant advantage, then I realize it makes sense.

The test says that my dormant advantage is “Trust”. But I think I am a reliable person that my friends could trust. Then I check the explanation.

Try to avoid situations that force you to communicate with your dormant Advantage, because this form of communication will cost you a disproportionate amount of energy and it’s unlikely to set you up for success.

Situations that force you to use your dormant Advantage will act like quicksand. You’ll feel stuck, unable to move forward without using up all your energy.

It’s important to recognize these types of interactions because they can prevent you from making progress and momentum.

So the definition of “trust” here is not just being reliable, but also being stable, willing to repeat things over and over again. I feel happy about the facts they list here. Because I used to think that it’s my fault if I finish my work bad when I get tired of repeating that. Now, thanks to this result, I’m feeling better. It’s ok when something is just not my style. I’m eager to challenges and change, which brings me energy and self- achievement. Why feeling bad about wanting to improve yourself? I will take this advice when seeking jobs.

The test can help us better understand ourselves. And even reveal bothers we never really pay attention to. For me, I hope I could know these things earlier. I might have these feelings by myself before about how others see me in my actions. But these are just my own perceptions. This test makes that clear which I think is worth reviewing.
