What do you do when you need to search for information on the phone? Go to the website or download the app? Yes, today mobile apps have made a mark in the digital age.

Today every brand has an app. It helps them connect with their audience in a better way. When we have to buy something through our smartphone, what do we do? Install the app.

Let’s have a look at the Toyota Engage app.

Does it help the customer?

Of course yes! The app is helpful when you want to see the different car models of Toyota. The app allows you to see all the models of Toyota and helps in easy comparison of each car. All you need to do is click on the model you are interested to see and there, you will have all the details. At the very top you have the search option which makes navigation easier as well and in case you know what specific information you want, you don’t even need to scroll. The app helps you distinguish one model oof Toyota car from the other.

Is there any innovativeness in the app?

I am not very pleased with the app when it comes to innovation. The app looks boring to me. There are no pictures of the car that I want to see. There is a lot of descriptive information that is good but imagery plays a very important factor in grabbing audience attention. For me, too much word information about the car models doesn’t work. There is a visually engaging factor that is lacking in the app. I like the fact that they only show the latest models on the app, and the first page when you click on the car model demonstrates the What’s New factor, but rather than that there is no Wow factor in the app.

Being in the automobile sector the app could utilize gaming or employ augmented reality to keep the audience hooked to the app, but they, unfortunately, don’t have it. Implementing augmented reality in the app would enhance the customer’s experience and he would be more interested in knowing about the car model.

Serving the purpose of “attraction”

The app is for sure easy to navigate and all the information about the car and models and readily available. But I am not so sure whether the sole purpose of this app is fulfilled or not. Less use of visual content and ample use of word content doesn’t attract me from a consumer’s perspective. No doubt that the app is clean looking and not cluttered but too many descriptive words are not working for me. There is a clear section about the price which is a good attraction as the consumer knows how much he needs to invest before buying that car. The app can be a pleasure for some people to use, maybe not for some people who are high on visual content.

Worth the download time?

I wouldn’t clearly say that the app wasn’t worth the download time. Having a clear distinction between the different models of Toyota was worth the download time.

Low GB? App worth space on your phone?

If you are considering buying a Toyota car, the app will help you give a clear perspective of the different Toyota models and its features and price. Also, the videos will help you understand the car model better.

In conclusion, Toyota buyers keep the app as you never know you may have some incentives on your next Toyota purchase if you have the app on your phone.
