Digital Marketing: What to Know

Getting into digital marketing for any organization can be an arduous task. Many businesses may not even know where or how to start. Over the last couple of months, this course has taught me several different aspects of digital marketing, and now I would like to share some of them with you.

Ad Types

One of the more important things discussed this semester is ad types. Essentially, for digital marketing, there are multiple different types of advertisements that can be used by an organization. Oftentimes, it can be difficult to decide which type of ad would be useful for a company. You can choose different types based on the kind of campaign you are running. For example, if you are running and ad on a website, you may choose an ad size for your placement such as a banner ad or an ad that runs along the side of the page. If you are running an email campaign, for example, you may choose to arrange the layout differently and include key buzzwords. However, what is essential with all of this is that costs may often vary between the types of ads being used. Thus, businesses should choose what is affordable for them and will be able to benefit them in the best way.

Goals of Digital Marketing

With Digital Marketing, there are several different subtypes of digital marketing. Within these subtypes are different types of goals. These goals may range from increasing your customer base and or, reaching your already targeted consumer base and increasing their interest in your products or services. Social Media for example can be used in a broader way to attract new customers and continue building a relationship in order to retain them. Thus, in a sense, one goal of digital marketing is to build a relationship with your consumers and use these relationships to retain customers and acquire new ones. Another thing that is important in digital marketing is having a diverse portfolio. This means that companies should be posting content through several different channels including social media, email campaigns and even on websites. This way, they can maximize their audience reach.

Why It’s Important

Digital Marketing is important primarily because it can help brands develop themselves and find their place in the market. Having an online presence is essential for any business's success in the modern age. Studies as of recent have shown that 88 percent of customers trust online reviews as much as they trust personal recommendations. As a result, having a strong and positive online presence is a key part of marketing in the digital age.

Conclusion

Overall, there are several important factors when it comes to digital marketing and what you should know. However, it is my opinion that the most important factors are based on how digital marketing can benefit your organization. Overall, I think that Digital Marketing is a necessary tool that can be of great help if used properly.
