Last week, one of the most significant events opened in the States, the Super Bowl. Many companies spend tons of thousands on buying advertising spots, so they can be in front of Americans or even people from worldwide.

Inch by Inch

Remy Martin, one of the famous Cognac companies bought a advertising spot during Super Bowl. This campaign, Inch by Inch, was the main topic of this video, have so many meanings in these three words. The video talks about if people team up and improve a little bit every time, everyone in the team is important that go in the same direction all together, and fight the barrier altogether.

Everyone should fight together

I think the main idea of this video is very inspiring, not only related to the sports competition, but also a life attitude. Covid19 has flipped our world upside down. So many unknown things keep appearing, and some are hard to find a solution for. People’s behavior had changed due to the life change, it is hard to predict what will be like tomorrow. There is a Chinese slam that says:“A chopstick is easy to break, but chopsticks are hard to break”. I always like this slam because, firstly, chopsticks are very daily for Asians; second, it is easy to experiment and easy to understand. Link back to the Super Bowl, each team needs to work together to win the gain. You can not win against the whole team.

Team work is everywhere

Team work is everywhere, as a marketer, we worked as a team too. When I worked as a marketer in China, I felt like I could not work without them. Firstly, when we do our campaign, we always need to brainstorm. Brainstorming is a process in which more people join and can get the more surprising ideas. Everyone has their own thoughts, by that, and they will think from different perceptive. When different ideas collide together, you have a higher chance of coming up with a better brand new idea.

Not related, but important

This campaign only mentions Remy Martin at the end. It plays for the Super Bowl, where national wide professional sports players team up to fight against each other. This video mentioned a daily scenario that we face every day. Even small improvement steps are important, not only us but also those sport players. This makes this video more shareable because it inspires people and encourages people.

I always like those kinds of non-sells driven advertisements because it is worth watching over and over again. Not only introduce their products but also reminds me of important life philosophy.
