Lay’s chips are my favorite snack, especially the barbecue sauce flavor. No one can reject Lay’s chips in my opinion :) So why not write a blog for it this week?

About Lay’s

Lay’s is owned by PepsiCo, a leading global consumer goods company established in 1965 with the merger of Pepsi-Cola and Frito-Lay. Lay’s is a brand of potato chips, as well as the name of the company that founded the chip brand in the United States. The brand has also sometimes been referred to as Frito-Lay because both Lay’s and Fritos are brands sold by the Frito-Lay company, which has been a wholly-owned subsidiary of PepsiCo since 1965.

Lay’s Website UX

The lays website is useful in that the information provided is related to the products they sell. As a user, I am very satisfied with the website experience on both desktop and mobile devices.

The website uses the color yellow as its dominant color, it conveys happiness and the brand spirit to everyone who clicks in. On the website, they use cute fonts and large photos to show their product. It is a very smart way to give users a joyful feeling to encourage them to continue browsing the page. In business, the objective of user experience design is to increase consumer satisfaction and loyalty by improving the efficiency, simplicity of use, and enjoyment of interacting with products advertised. Using the website is a good experience because it is easy to use and is designed in a playful, colorful manner that is attractive to the user.

Continue Browsing Their Website

Lays has a significant distribution system advantage as well as a strong global presence. The website’s purpose is to advertise the products they sell, as well as upcoming products or projects, and the website’s UX design aids in fulfilling that purpose.

Information on the website is easy to find (it has good navigation), the pages and the search engine load quickly too. It contains 6 sections including a search box on the website. It has a very clear direction on the website.

The website design is absolutely innovative. Lay’s has established itself successfully among the youth by reinventing itself according to the preferences of its target audience. The website includes different elements like recipes, videos, different celebrities enjoying their products, and so on. People can easily find everything related to the product.

It definitely reflects the personality of the brand. Lays has marketed itself as an evening or party snack that attracts its target audience (youth) through its advertising campaigns (Bhasin, SWOT Analysis). And it is evident in its aesthetics of which are colorful and playful.

In terms of style, the strongest designs will be consistent with their brands, leave a positive impression on visitors, and compliment the material they are advertising (Mallon). Lays sells various types and flavors of chips and that is reflected in their website. It is quite colorful (Lays), with colors that reflect the packaging of the products they sell.

The website is employing responsive design. The website format is similar on both the computer and phone, however, the sizing and scaling are appropriate for whichever device one may be using. The web pages look great on a range of devices and screen sizes.

I notice a fun aspect of the Lays website is that it also has recipes that would do utilizing the chips. It is very creative to put the recipe on the website. Usability aids in the development of well-functioning products, but just because something is simple to use does not mean that people will utilize it. It incorporates the hallmarks of a fascinating message. It conveys the message of variety, with different variations of the lays chips. As well as versatility, as there are recipes provided to show various ways the chips can be eaten.

AI

Lay’s website uses AI to ease conversion and for customer service. Although the website experience is not personalized for each individual’s demands rather every customer views the same content, the customer service allows for individualized communication.

How do I feel?

Overall, the Lays website is simple to browse and utilize. It has very clear sections as well as high-tech assistants. I read an article this week called “8 Ways to Measure Your Website UX”. It talks about when website visitors are unable to locate the appropriate product or content they need, they may not only leave one’s site but there is a good probability that one will begin to receive bad feedback about their website and business.
