FASCINATION — More Than Personality Assessment
We are living in a society where opinions matter. Our personality traits not only decide how we see the world, but also influence how others see us. The Fascinate Test measures how the world sees you and provides marketing-based communication assessment.
I took the test and to be honest, I didn’t believe at first that the test can really reveal the very true “ME”. However, after I finished answering all the 28 questions in the test and pressed the button “continue”, I was shocked by the report. According to the result, my archetype was defined as “ The Intrigue”. My primary advantage is passion while the second is mystique. The report is exactly revealing my personality. I have passion for friends and work. I would like to express myself and create immediate strong emotional connection. Also, I am not superficial and I don’t always show what’s on my mind, therefore it takes time for people to know me well.
The dormant advantage, which is the least potential of mine is innovation. I still need more innovative ideas to impress others. The result is so true that I have to admit that I am working hard to cultivate my “innovation” skill.
The idea of Fascination is innovative. It truly reveal people’s natural communication styles and evaluate their team value based on personality. The test not only gives people insight of how others see us, but also explores the value of personality contributed to the team. I asked few friends of mine and also some colleagues who have worked with me about how they see me. Most of them said that I was perceived to be expressive and engaging. I can intuitively understand ideas and feelings of others. I devote to my team my passion to persuade, influence and inspire people. The Fascinate Test gave me a whole picture of my personality traits and I feel really true about the analytics.
However, the 28 questions are all answered by one people — me myself. Deviation might exist if I perceive wrong about how others look at me. If I am not a powerful leader as I thought or I am not an easy-going type to other people as I am concerned, the results would definitely be biased. Moreover, “expressive” could be my positive personality trait but could also be a tag for “too blunt” or “too aggressive”. How to identify and evaluate the degree of “passion” or “mystique” should be clarified in the future. “Too expressive” might not be a good thing because sometimes a team just needs a bunch of followers. Your ideas do not matter all the time.
As a marketer, I am really impressed by the Fascination. I would like to see more diverse personality traits and their specific impact on marketing team.
