Covid-19 is forcing marketers across the globe to rethink and restructure their marketing techniques and processes. There has been unprecedented growth in the use of digital channels, with digital purchasing power increasing by 23% in the US over the past seven years and by 5% in the UK in one year. Companies should be more clear about their digital marketing strategies in today’s global digital trends.

1. Mobile Marketing strategy Leading the way

There is no doubt that mobile marketing has an important place in digital marketing, and digital marketing activities should reflect mobile consideration. You can consider several aspects of the mobile marketing:

  • Mobile-friendly: 48% of users say they feel frustrated and annoyed when they get to a site that’s not mobile-friendly. Web pages should be equally focused on mobile users, providing consumers with the same smooth experience and full functionality as PCs.
  • Mobile Apps: 89 % of consumer media time in mobile apps, 11% on the mobile web. Developing mobile apps can definitely bring benefits to the company, of course, you also need to consider UX and UI which are things to keep in mind all the time.
  • SMS Marketing: As a widely used form of mobile marketing, it has great potential. 50% of US customers make a direct purchase after they’re sent an SMS text, coupon, or discount code.
  • QR Code: QR code allows consumers to link directly to the target page quickly. Please imagine whether you prefer to enter a string of numbers or scan directly when paying with Venmo.

2. Don’t forget email marketing

Email is widely used worldwide. In 2022, the number of global e-mail users amounted to 4.2 billion and is set to grow to 4.6 billion users in 2025. In 2022, 333.2 billion emails are expected to be sent and received each day.

Companies should develop agile and programmatic email marketing strategies to stay in close contact with consumers. You can start by defining your target audience and building your email list, and sending the appropriate content to consumers by choosing emails for different campaign types. You will need to develop a schedule to determine how often you will be contacted by your listing.

The subject, format, content are also the key to helping you access the audience:

  • Subject line: Clear, engaging, personalized content that entices consumers to open the email.
  • Responsiveness: Your emails should be optimized for all devices, including mobiles and tablets.
  • Images: eye-catching and relevant images.
  • Content: Be consistent with your voice and should be engaging.
  • Personalization: Personalize the content of your emails based on your company’s products/services. For example, be personable and speak to your audience in a familiar tone.

3. Content Marketing cannot be ignored

Content marketing can help you increase brand awareness, sales, and consumer engagement. 46% of businesses reported they want to increase their content creation spending in 2022. You can still develop a content marketing plan by considering the following:

  • Infographic content marketing: Compared to long-winded text, infographics are more suitable for educational topics. Simple wording and statements combined with clear images and data make the content logic clear at a glance.
  • Blog content marketing: Blogs are an inbound content type and allow a lot of creativity in their subject matter and content. Importantly, blogs need to be posted regularly to keep your relationship with consumers here.
  • Podcast: Many companies are developing their own blogging platforms and accounts, it is predicted that the number of podcast monthly listeners in us will hit 164 million in the year 2024. Like blogs, the content of podcasts can be diverse.

There are many more types of content marketing, such as video content marketing, and social media content marketing. You can develop a content marketing plan based on your audience preferences.

4. New Technology could increase the UX

Digital marketing is increasingly related to technology to provide consumers with personalized content and improve productivity and consumer experience. You can consider the following aspects to enhance your digital marketing competitiveness:

  • AI: 61% of marketers say artificial intelligence is the most important aspect of their data strategy. With AI’s predictive analytics, it allows you to better understand your customers and enable hyper-personalized marketing communications. Chatbots are the most common example, allowing consumers to quickly get responses.
  • AR: 67% of media planners intend to leverage AR/VR technology for their digital marketing campaigns. Just like pokemon go, AR can enhance user experience and engagement.

5. Stay agile and flexible

In the end, whatever kind of digital marketing strategy it is, it needs to be agile and flexible. The market is changing rapidly and you need to ensure that your company can respond quickly to industry developments, market trends, and current conditions.

More than nine in 10 marketers (94%) say speed and agility are “very important” to digital experience management and delivery. You need to think about how to respond to change and leave room for necessary change.
