Coronavirus, a pandemic after 100 years!

Another week, another discussion, but we still stuck at coronavirus. No one ever in their wildest dreams thought that this situation would go out of hand. Every business is suffering losses but all of them are taking necessary steps to educate the people and make them aware of the situation. Businesses are shutting their operations because at this point they are most concerned about the safety of their employees. Most of the companies are giving it back to their communities. Every company is caring for humanity today.

Let’s see what steps BMW has taken during this pandemic situation and how it has tried to maintain its cool positively.

BMW’s response to COVID 19

BMW Response to CoronaVirus

Many businesses are working remotely and have stopped their production. BMW is no exception to this. They have shut their dealer stores. But business needs to keep working so to ensure that, they have:

Closed physically, open digitally

They wanted to make sure that they make use of the digital platform and the technology they have to keep running the business.

Are they being authentic?

As mentioned above every company is doing its bit to serve the community and help them in every way possible in this situation. But a company that takes the extra mile is the one that is the most authentic company. All companies have shut their production and are planning to keep them suspended till things get back to normal.

We have been instructed to keep our hands washed and sanitized often. BMW has taken the necessary steps to make sure that your car is also safe and sanitized. They have made sure that their customer support and service team operates well and can fulfill the demand of people. They have spread a message to their customers that their cars can be serviced and sanitized even now and they don’t need to get out of their house for that. They just need to fix an appointment and their car will be picked up.

All their frontline workers can explain BMW their current situation and are eligible for a Cashback on all their trips.

On their Social Media

BMW — Instagram

BMW has always been very active and interactive on their Social Media platforms. This time also it is doing the same. They launched a campaign

“The only curve that matters, is the one we need to flatten”

They are encouraging people to stay at home and to stay safe. They are spreading the message that the roads will always be there but mankind today is unsafe, so be at home and be safe so that you can get back to the roads and normal life soon.

BMW — Twitter

They are even keeping the children active by asking them to paint rainbows that show that there is a rainbow after every storm and by hanging the rainbow painting on their window they can show the world that “we are in this together.”

They have also shared a 20-second post to encourage people to wash hands for 20 secs and have shown it through the BMW visuals.

What do I think?

BMW — Instagram

In my opinion, BMW is taking the right initiative to encourage people to stay at home and are trying to make sure that they drive that change just like their slogan, “The Ultimate Driving Machine,”

Shutting down production and warehouses is very common and everyone took that step. But the thing that stood out to me is the one where they told people that the roads will always be there but right now it is the time to stay at home and take care of yourself.

This action has even made me think that it is best for all of us to stay at home and to stay safe. This initiative and way of telling it to people help me to separate BMW from the rest.

What after COVID 19?

COVID 19 has affected mankind. The effect of this virus will be edged in people’s minds for a long time. People are scared to come in contact with other people. Mask, cleaners, toilet rolls are all sold out. Companies especially BMW are interacting with its customers and using social media channels because they know this is the place where people are spending their majority time. They are making sure they don’t lose touch with their customers by keeping them interactive. They are paying attention to the current trends and they should continue to do so to communicate well with their customers.

It’s a tough time for everyone, but this situation will also pass-through!
