The booming sneaker resale sector has expanded beyond Jordans and Dunks. GOAT, the sneaker resale marketplace, is thinking far bigger after increasing its valuation to $3.7 billion following a $195 million Series F investment round last month.

Goat’s ambitious goal is to become the top e-commerce destination for young, cool consumers to purchase retail and resale at the same time spanning luxury, streetwear, and sneakers.

And their website and software also shine in terms of user experience.

  1. Uniformity of design

Goat takes full advantage of the design in conveying the brand personality, firstly, the color design of both the webpage and the app adopts a minimalist style, and the color choice also adopts black and white as the main colors.

Although the use of black and white has long been a classic design, the essence of Goat’s design is to use the unique typography to highlight the fashion characteristics.

2. Clean content layout

Users can easily get what they need in the product search and purchase process, and enjoy the shopping process. A smooth search experience is essential for a shopping site.

They also designed and implemented bespoke algorithms for videos to ensure that they load quickly and efficiently utilise a device’s resources. As a consequence, users may view the product items in dynamic videos and enjoy the app’s smooth operation.

3、The intelligent interpolation of AR function

The Try-On function, which is now available on the GOAT app, allows users to get up close and personal with some of the most desired sneakers of all time. Users may digitally try on rare pairs of shoes, allowing them to view how an elusive pair like the “Deftones” or “Wu-Tang” Dunks could appear on their own feet.

In my opinion, the UX design of the fashion industry can bring new inspiration to the UX design of the whole industry due to its fashion properties and its close connection with consumers, so it is very meaningful to focus on the application of UX in the fashion industry.

During the pandemic, consumers raced to buy and sell approved shoes and clothes as a hobby or side business, increasing Goat’s GMV to over $2 billion in the past year. The website now has 30 million members and 600,000 suppliers worldwide. I believe its attentive user experience design is a credit to the company.
