Google will shares its #YearInSearch in every December, featuring the trends and events that shaped the year. It was a difficult year in 2020, the spread of global pandemic caused by novel virus COVID-19 led to a global crisis and the economic was getting worse, there were many companies shutdown. With all the challenges and events happened in 2020, Google’s Year In Search campaign was different than before.

I think this campaign is effective to Google promoting its brand as well as its feature Google Trends since this video talked about all the events and news of the year. It connected the year’s story to its product and created an emotional connection with its customers instead of talked about its search features. The campaign Google made is relevant to their brand. By doing this, it creates a compelling stories for its customers to promote the brand and makes it unforgettable. It also boots social media engagement.

In conclusion, I think Google was successfully inject its ideas into a breaking news story and generate tonnes of media coverage.
