For me, the most important thing about furniture shopping is the offline experience. Because I am very concerned about the tactile and visual experience that real objects bring to me.

But visiting a furniture store often takes a lot of time, so before shopping offline, I usually pay attention to whether there are new or discounted items on the website that are worth paying attention to, and record them in the shopping list. This way I won’t spend too much time shopping offline. So having an attractive website is very important for furniture companies.

As one of the fastest growing furniture companies in recent years, Ashley Homestore, I am curious what kind of experience will its website bring?

Web design, lack of aesthetics…
In terms of sensory experience, the visual colors of the website interface are mainly black, white, orange, and grey. The fonts are generous, the website interface is relatively clear, the location of pictures and texts is standardized, and the overall effect is unified. Moreover, each category of furniture can be quickly found on the homepage, and the website style is more practical.

However, Ashley Homestore’s website design lacks an interactive experience. Although the typography in pure graphic and text form is clear, it lacks interesting page design to attract users to browse. Moreover, too many pictures and texts are not friendly to mobile phone users, because browsing on mobile phones will feel that the website has too much content and lacks the focus of attention, and users are easily tired.

If Ashley Homestore’s website can adopt more interactive design effects related to each furniture product, it can satisfy users’ needs for fun and interactivity. At the same time, it can stimulate users’ desire to learn and help users to obtain a good product experience.

Chatbot, pleasant experience~
What surprises me about this site is its live chat. Ashley Homestore’s live chat is powered by Touch Commerce. It gives online shoppers an extra boost, which helps personalize purchases, just as shoppers do in offline stores. It also helps deliver products to specific groups of people, not just target groups.

Unlike chatbots on other sites that need to answer countless questions to connect to a live salesperson, after I answered the second question from the virtual assistant, I was immediately matched with a local sale person Chelsea in less than 30 seconds. The whole consultation process is very relaxing and enjoyable, like chatting with a friend.

I said I would like to change to a more comfortable and soft mattress, Chelsea naturally asked me about my specific requirements and past purchase experience, after which she recommended 3 mattresses to me and attached photos of them according to my requirements , videos and consumers’ comments on their use are very professional and considerate. Instead of rudely urging you to make an early decision, Ashley Homestore’s online sales offer confidently introduce their products like a museum presenter and are happy to answer questions.

When I mentioned that I still have concerns about making decisions online, and I still want to go to an offline store to experience it, Chelsea kindly told me during which time period there would be fewer customers and the experience might be better.

The chatbox feature on the Ashley Homestore website made me appreciate its consumer-friendly, responsible attitude. This feature boosts customers’ confidence in buying online as they can have one-on-one conversations with salespeople via live chat.

3D Room Design, Amazing!
While I was browsing the Ashley Homestore website I found a cool feature called 3D Room Design. When I need to move to a new place or want to give my bedroom a new look, I can use 3D Room Design to do it. The selection and arrangement of furniture is presented through 3D visualization technology.

3D Room Design provides personalized functions for consumers with different needs, they are: View Inspiration Rooms, View Templates, Start from Scratch.

Click the View Inspiration Rooms button for inspiration if I’m just starting out and don’t have a firm idea of what kind of room I want. On the Inspiration screen, I can hover over the photo that best suits my style and click the Open in 3D button or View in 3D button.

This will open the inspiration image in 3D. I can redesign the space by removing unwanted parts, adding furniture from search categories, or changing wall colors and floors. I can also click Modify Layout and adjust the actual layout to your specific room size, then go back and redesign.

View Templates can be used when a customer wants to compare the fabrics or sizes of multiple products and is looking for the right piece of furniture to match an existing piece of furniture. This feature makes it possible to add furniture to a room by browsing the categories or entering the product name, item number or collection name in the search box. I can also click Modify Layout and adjust it for specific room requirements.

If the customers are not sure what size of the rug is suitable, they also can use this function to figure out.

If I want to change the style of the decoration and need to place the new furniture accurately, I can build your own floor by clicking start from scratch. First I need to draw the shape of the room and then stretch it to the correct size. Once I have finished building the room, I can create the desired room style with a single click to add furniture.

This 3D Room Design allows consumers to be more specific about what type of products they need. It can increase consumer participation and tap their inner needs, which is very interesting and practical.

In conclusion, Ashley Homestore’s web page is more practical, and there are many surprises hidden, which need to be browsed patiently to discover.
