Technology has become ubiquitous, so much so that it is unimaginable to live without it. People’s lives have been significantly impacted and changed, and specifically, these technological progressions have resulted in the Internet of Things (IoT) in digital marketing. Through technology in digital marketing, company products can be marketed across the globe. IoT, therefore, is an interesting development that can help with lead generation, customer retention, and sales, among others, for an organization.

What’s innovative about the IoT?

The Internet of Things dramatically relies on innovations. For instance, it has significantly impacted the marketing levels through the invention of Amazon Echo.

The invented amazon echo has helped substantially in the control of the thermostat and the alarm systems within buildings. The innovation dramatically uses the technology of linking phones and making it possible to be commanded by the Echo for all smart products. The innovation has considerable prices to the users, and the efficiency and reliability of the Echo are ranked highly. The best part of the Internet of Things, it has no environmental effects or health effects to the users.

What are the pluses and minuses of this trend?

First, IoT allows easy access to information; the customer can obtain product information and uses of the product at the comfort of his or her home. The entrance of information has dramatically made the IoT dominate many sectors that contribute to economic growth. Moreover, the use of IoT is of more significance due to the automated systems that help in minimizing the cost of production and advertisement of products.

On the other hand, the use of IoT has disadvantaged the user due to its complexity. IoT has made it difficult for some customers to uphold modern ways of living because some are prone to faultiness and may expose personal information to a third party. Furthermore, the automation of tasks has contributed significantly to increased unemployment levels.

Is thr IoT a fad in digital world?

From my perspectives, the Internet of Things is not a fad. Consistently be used in digital marketing and other fields, it is growing and evolving daily. Nowadays it also replaces some of the manual tasks such as the use of refrigerator controlled by the internet is such an example. Moreover, the continued research of the Internet of Things by most companies give a clear explanation that IoT will continually be embraced.

I would recommend the use of the Internet of Things to a client based on how the technology has lowered either marketing or operational costs. The use of IoT has given many companies the possibility of reducing the value of their products due to the low cost of production.

The world is evolving technologically; it is necessary for every marketers to embrace the use of IoT since there is a higher probability of other, more magnificent technological inventions.
