I Am Resonating With Your Heartbeat
Literature is rescuing oneself word by word.
This is my favorite quote illustrating my understanding of words, from the famous painter, poet, and writer Mu Xin (木心). After spending so many years together, it appears to be the best way for me to put in emotions and thoughts as well as communicate with the world.
I like reading, writing, and literature. I never thought that words would be obsolete. Instead, I consider them as the most romantic but powerful way of expression, and blogs are the ideal medium. They maintain private expression in a public space, so the premise of writing them does not necessarily have to be earning audiences. Its influence is subtle and will pass through us unconsciously at a certain moment.
With the influence of literature on me, I have always been interested in content creation and have practiced it in past experiences, such as copywriting and social media marketing. Ideally, content creation would also be one of my career paths.
Creating content or reading literature is like a speed bump placed on the road where we collide with information, persuading us to slow down for a moment for a more detailed, insightful reflection.
Words are the rebellion against the image era and fleeting life.
The fermentation of the attention economy has caused us to process an extreme information glut every day, together with the increasingly fragmented content. Attention has become the scarcest currency that needs to be competed for and managed, which also poses a huge challenge for content creators. Everyone is creating content using the same set language, so how can you use your words to win more attention?
Therefore, there is more to consider when it comes to content creation for marketing. I believe it is still true that content is the king, but there are more twists on the road to the kingdom. Personally, topics about art and traditional culture always attract me to write more about. These topics should be the backbone of content creation, providing diversity to the content nature and helping to further enhance the authenticity of marketing activities and brands themselves. However, I’m conscious of the fact that personal preference alone cannot guarantee attention. So in the following blogs, I want to explore more about the success or selling points of attractive marketing cases, especially about what makes digital marketing powerful and efficient, and what we as marketers should do to grab and manage our targets’ attention through content.
I hope I can always analyze and interpret marketing events and strategies from new perspectives, and try to find content that enables digital marketing to reach the desired audience while still being written in an attractive and interesting way. My blog aims to tell meaningful things and attract your attention. Time passes and many things are too easy to be forgotten, or some that deserve attention have even never been noticed.
Writing is a conversation with oneself, but words can reveal more than just oneself. When it is a medium for self-expression, we don’t even need anyone to really be watching us, we are witnessing as our own audience. But when we are writing with the purpose of promotion or advocacy, attention and audience step in as the purpose. I haven’t discovered the “golden rules” to survive under the attention economy, but I believe writing will help.
And I hope you can explore with me.
The first encounter is ending with another quote that I found impressive:
