JetBlue is one of Delta’s competitors. JetBlue was born at JFK in 2000 and has become an award-winning global travel company. Both Delta and JetBlue are very famous airlines in the United States. Here I will focus on analyzing the user experience of JetBlue. From my point of view, JetBlue is doing a great job in UX.

Intuitive and Consistent Appearance

The interface of both mobile apps and website of JetBlue is user-friendly. Their pages are designed to be intuitive and easy to navigate, making it easy for users to search for flights, manage bookings, and explore available amenities.

JetBlue’s pages all use dark blue as the main color. Using the blue color for the page appearance can give the viewer a feeling of trust, calm, and loyalty. The darker blue color brings more of a sense of reliability. This also allows JetBlue to give users an experience that corresponds to its brand values. The core values of JetBlue are safety, caring, integrity, passion, and fun.

Regarding fonts, JetBlue primarily uses the “Gotham” font. It is known for its clean, modern look. It matches JetBlue’s color choices for their interfaces.

Easy to Use

The JetBlue app has all the features users need to search, book and manage their travel. The home screen is covered with a set of rotating banners that highlight promotions, announcements and some of the key selling points associated with flying with JetBlue. Users can also access a menu of options from the home screen, including “My Itinerary,” “Book Flights,” “Check-In,” and “Flight Status” .

Booking a flight through JetBlue app is a painless experience. The large form fields are easy to use on mobile, and the presentation of the forms themselves is modern and functional. Once a search is conducted, the results are presented in a way that makes them easy to browse and digest. Key information is presented prominently, while links to view more details are available. Color is used judiciously to indicate different levels of ticketing, and a yellow accent color makes the call-to-action to continue booking inescapable.

Responsive Design

JetBlue is optimized for both desktop and mobile devices through responsive design techniques. This means that the layout and content of the website seamlessly adapts to different screen sizes, ensuring consistency and usability across devices. Customers can access the website from any device and have a similar experience, thus increasing their satisfaction and engagement with the brand.

Accessibility Assistance

JetBlue is committed to helping make the journey safe and smooth for travelers who need assistance, such as those with wheelchairs, service animals or health conditions.

Beyond basic assistance, JetBlue also focuses on information accessibility.

With customers’ growing website accessibility needs, JetBlue is committed to providing a better digital experience for people. They did the following efforts:

  • Design with text size increased to 200%. Our website provides a design which would allow browsers to handle text enlarged to 200% that can handle page zooming.
  • Essential keyboard access. Our website provides consistent, logical tab order–left to right, top to bottom using only the keyboard.
  • Providing closed captioning. Videos on our website provides closed captioning services for those who are hearing impaired.

JetBlue has been a pioneer in web design for the airline industry. While other airlines offer users a clunky, outdated web experience, JetBlue offers a modern, user-friendly website that makes the process of searching and booking flights easy. When booking with JetBlue, users can get a wonderful user experience.
