The modern world offers people many new opportunities. However, such opportunities also put a person’s personal information at risk. For example, companies can collect information on what people search online, including personal data, which breaks consumers’ privacy. CCPA obligates companies to follow strict rules and regulations and allows people to learn more and protect their personal information.

To protect people’s privacy, the state of California implemented The California Consumer Privacy Act. It is a privacy policy that prevents companies from collecting personal data and using it for their benefit. Also, the law obligates companies to notify consumers of how they will use or even monetize the data (O’Donnell par.2). Such a strategy would help users to control their personal information because different companies collect it for marketing databases and special promotions that require people to sign their names. As a result, the data gets stuck in the database, people forget about it, and companies can use it for their benefit. The new privacy law allows people to see and identify what types of personal information companies want to collect, analyze the risks, as well as control and monitor it. At the same time, companies must notify what third parties might get access to the data and respect consumers’ requests to delete their information from the database.

In my opinion, The California Consumer Privacy Act is a useful law that helps people to protect their privacy. Even though it might not be easy for some companies to take regulations and follow the rules, it would allow establishing more loyal relationships with the consumers. Also, such a privacy policy allows people to learn more about the essential topic of data privacy.
