Memphis Meats is a company that produces meats through cell-based technology. Experts pick the best cell and put it in a “cultivator” and let it grows in 4–6 weeks (Detailed information can be viewed on Blog 4 “Cell-based Meat? Memphis Meats UX”).

In the Pandemic

The pandemic started in early 2020 in the US. It did not impact too much Memphis Meats because the company does feed the actual animals or plants on the farm. It picks the most potential cell and feeds them micronutrients in the lab. The process is isolated and independent, it is unlikely that the virus gets a chance to attack the lab. However, members of Memphis Meats still insist on the government policy about social distancing and posted a photo on Instagram while they were having a Zoom meeting. Also, on January 22, 2020, Memphis Meats raised a $161 million Series B funding round and posted it on news. The fund is to build a pilot production facility and launch new products, according to Yahoo Finance.

What do I think?

Firstly, I believe Memphis Meats is doing a great job of keeping social distance. The most important element for a food production company is to keep the safety of members and products. A new startup organization must show its internal bright side to potential customers in order to build trusty relationships with customers. It brings a message to customers that when members keep social distance, there is no chance that the lab and products be polluted.

Secondly, the rise of found shows the success of Memphis Meats and the potential energy of it. No one would invest in a company that is sinking or dying. The company and investors prove that the cell-based technology is matured and safe, also bring hope to people that the clean and all-natural meats are coming to people’s plates with no doubt.

Potential contact ways with Customers

It has been a year since the pandemic started and no one knows when it will end. In order to provide a better customer experience, Memphis Meats has already built an interaction contact website. By considering the long-term action, I think Memphis Meats will set up hotlines, emails, AI, and evaluation forms in order to communicate with customers. After its products have launched, Memphis Meats will attract more investments in all aspects and the world-class team will be built simultaneously. At that time, it is Memphis Meats’s responsibility to handle all kinds of ways to communicate with customers and try to offer the best user experience.
