Google is constantly changing the algorithm of SEO, and for marketers, it’s really hard to keep track of every change being made. In order to make it easier to follow what’s going on, I have compiled some interesting SEO statistics for you all.

75% of SEO is actually off-page, while only 25% is on-page

Interesting right? Many companies have focused too much on their own website while missing a key understanding that backlinks, social signals, social media, directories, and many other “off-page” practices will be even more valuable than they ever thought possible.

Organic SEO is about 5.66 times better than paid search ads

If you think paid ads are the only way to success, then you are totally wrong. According to the stats, 70%-80% of search engine users only focus on organic results. So for a long term business, you might want to combine both paid and organic methods to increase your brand exposure. Plus, organic SEO is a more cost-effective way for long term businesses.

The top 5 results get 75% of the clicks

According to the latest keyword statistics, people are more likely to search by asking a question or making a statement than just use individual keywords. This approach involves what is known as long-tail keywords, and not including them in your SEO strategy means you are missing out on 50% of the total number of searches. So you might want to think of the most possible questions or sentences people would search on Google or any other search engine.

According to the search engine usage statistics, at least 50% of all searches will be voice and image-based by 2020.

The importance of choosing the correct search terms and keywords for your SEO campaign will become even more vital with voice search. Including image alt tags for each image on your website, with the correct keywords once again, will also help elevate your position on the results pages.

Page titles are the most important on-page element after content

A perfect title means everything! Getting the right title attracts people to click into your articles or websites. If you get the right title, then you’re one step away from success. However, if you got really nice content with a pretty irrelevant title, no one will actually click into your site and it will be a complete waste of time and effort. Also, a higher click-through rate gives you a higher SEO ranking. So you definitely want to come up with a perfect title.

Google doesn’t lead search engine market share, it dominates

We all know that Google is the largest search engine company we use daily. It consistently dominates the market share and in the short term there are no competitors that could surpass them!

66% of e-commerce time takes place on smartphones.

Mobile commerce revenue in the US is projected to be $693.36 billion by 2019. More and more people go online shopping, web browsing, and product ordering through their cellphone. It is important to optimize users' experience on smartphones as this market is growing rapidly.

The click-through rates for video emails are 96% higher than those without video.

If you thought that video only applied to websites like YouTube, then you’re wrong. SEO statistics have shown that incorporating it into emails is highly successful from a marketing perspective. People pay more attention to the video, and as long as it leaves them feeling intrigued, there’s no reason why that CTR won’t increase.

I hope you all enjoy the SEO stats!
