Al Nassr:

Al Nassr is a professional soccer team located in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. It was a completely unknown club outside of Asia, and even in most parts outside of Saudi Arabia. They went from just a few hundred thousand followers on Instagram to 23.3 million to date. This all started through one signing, Cristiano Ronaldo. Ronaldo currently has 619 million followers on Instagram. Al Nassr has also signed other very good signings such as Laporte, Talisca, Otavio, Brozovic, Telles, Mane, and more. These players have also brought growth to Al Nassr’s awareness, but the vast majority of growth has come from Cristiano Ronaldo. The picture below is currently outdated, but shows a very clear and exponential growth due to Ronaldo.

The Content: https://www.instagram.com/reel/C1NAOsJsbgb/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link&igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==

The link to the video above is the famous Ronaldo celebration “Suiii.” It is currently one of the most renowned celebrations on the planet. Many players from many different sports and teams use it. When he does the celebration the entire stadium also screams “Suiii.” As someone who witnessed the celebration that was used above, it is truly special. Below I attached a picture of the same moment that I took.

Why This is Good Content:

Ronaldo is by far Al Nassr’s most marketable player, and he is one of the most marketable players in the world. He has one of the largest followings in the globe. Not just as an athlete, but as a person too. A common theme throughout the Al Nassr Instagram page is to post Ronaldo as much as possible. He often reposts the content so his entire followers have access to it. The reach he has is nothing short of overwhelming, and they’re not paying him any extra to repost content. Next, this is a great piece of content because he broke a record shortly after that. This goal he scored was instrumental in breaking the record. He was the leading goal scorer of any player in the world. He finished with two goals ahead of everyone else. He needed this goal. Another reason is because of his Iconic celebration. As mentioned before it is one of the most iconic player celebrations of all time. The more times Ronaldo “hits the Sui” the more people like the content. The post had 1.6 million likes. This is phenomenal. The amount of buzz this post got is truly amazing. For such an easy piece of content to produce and the low costs, the outcome is amazing.

Conclusion:

Most sports teams in general produce a lot of content of the players. That is, after all, their most important asset. The fact that Al Nassr has access to such an iconic player is the reason for their current success on social media. I can also guarantee that they will have several posts do incredibly well in the next few days because Al Nassr plays Inter Miami On Thursday. This could potentially be the last time Messi and Ronaldo face off. There are massive bragging rights behind it. Millions of viewers will be watching this game. To continue this success Al Nassr needs to keep creating engaging content of the players with large fan bases.
