Don’t you ever feel the clothes in your wardrobe are never enough for your fashionable mind? As a woman, I wish I could go on shopping every day, and never repeat the same outfit in forever (This is just a delusional voice deep down in my mind) No doubt, as women, everyone wants to find their fashionable way that designed only for oneself. As our online shopping experiences had enhanced gradually in time, two competitively incredible companies offer to become the stylist that allows you to fall in love with yourself a bit more every day.

Largely identical, slight differences.

Wantable is a lot like Stitch Fix and normally customers were torn to choose which service they prefer. To get started on Stitch Fix and Wantable, new customers need to build a style profile. In each case, it is free to set up your profile, which will guide you through a series of personal style quiz questions designed to help you stylist deliver the perfect curated box dedicated to your needs. You are allowed to choose your budget personal style and size information. But in this case, stitch Fix tends to ask more general questions, for example, it will ask female customers which parts of the body customers likes to flaunt, then the analyst would get a better interpretation to help the stylist to select pieces that are the best fit towards customers preferences. Wantable would try to cease customer’s likable styles by asks customers directly how they feel about specific styles of clothing by showing pictures, which prompt them to determine which clothes a customer would like or dislike.

From reading the customer reviews, what comes inside the shipments are different between these two. Stitch Fix would deliverer 5 hand-picked items by personal stylist, which is so-called Style Edit or Fix. This includes offers shoes, handbags, Jewelry, and outwear, and last year, they launched the “Extra” program, which would also include socks, shapewear, bras, panties and other undergarments in addition to that original 5 items. Wantable in comparison, only provides clothing, jewelry, handbags, and sunglasses. If you decided to buy all items that came in with the shipment, then Stitch fix would offer a 25% off, and Wantable would discount the entire purchase by 20%.

Comparing prices of Stitch Fix and Wantable is like looking into a mirror. Setting profiles are both free, and they both charge a $20 styling fee, which includes free shipping and returns. Both services do not require a subscription to enjoy the service, however, they all offer a variety of frequent options for subscription customers. Additionally, both services deduct the styling fee from the cost of any clothes you purchase from your shipment. The customer reviews said that Stich fix’s average price for women’s clothing items is $55, but more than often, customers would receive clothing that is a bit higher than this. Wantable in comparison has always accurately provided a range (like from $50-$100) for customers to fairly know in advance.

Disparate Points

Who are the target audiences? In this case, Stitch Fix has beat Wantable. Segmenting different types of customers, which Stich Fix offers styling for men and women — including petite, plus, and maternity sizing, and now they even added in Stitch Fix Kids. Wantable, in this case, has lacked variety, by solely provide style edit service for women and men’s fitness style.

After matching your style, Stitch Fix allows you to sneak peek your Fix when the shipment is on the way, but Wantable’s strategy is no peaking available until, after the style, edit is delivered. At this point, in my personal opinion, I would recommend them to have a couple options available to view online, and let them pick which set they want, then ship out. I think that way might be more accurate, thus, to avoid unnecessary costs on shipping and returning.

UX Review

I think both apps provide useful and structured services, and when first enter the website, the purpose was clear, which means it is easy to find how the service work. It is an easy-to-use wielded. On the very first page, they all have obvious tag saying, “Get Started” or “Take the Quiz”. It is a pleasure to use since the images, font, and color all match the brand’s goal as a personal stylist. As a woman, I am highly interested in what kind of fashion would suit me, therefore I would take the quiz, even just for fun. They did a great job of posting customer reviews.

Here are some critical points, in terms of innovation and personality of the brand, I think they could do better. For branding, they need a slogan and logo on the home page that are easy to observe, which Wantable has a logo, but still lacking the brand’s personality. Also, when I first enter the website, I was searching for the business brief, what are their goals? Is there a determined culture in their company? What’s the spirit? A service-driven company should also be spiritual in its service. Also, it would be better, when clicking on anything, they would directly lead you to a new tab, therefore customers do not need to go back and forth with the back button, to avoid customers forgetting where they found what. They should also have a search bar.

When comparing websites and mobile versions, I downloaded both apps, and I realize that Stitch Fix does not have consistent themes and colors on both devices, the mint blue has never appeared on the website when browsing, so as the logo. The interface of both the app and the website has resonate structures, and it is also easy to convert.

In terms of responsive designs, they all have responsive designs, no matter how I zoom and shrink the screen, all the functions are still present, and easy to convert. To be more entertaining and inspiring, they both can have a forum platform to let users talk about life with the services. Make Viral content on multi-media would help the brand to get their name out.
It incorporates a fascinating message, which I think their service and interface design makes them an Authentic, which is a combination of passion and trust. They have the passion to style fashion on different individuals, and they win trust overall since they perform like a personal stylist in real life.

Try out both services, and I wish you all have a fashionable week✌🏻

Thank you for reading❤️
