How do you feel about getting the highest ROI on digital marketing investments? Controlling costs? Reduce unnecessary overhead expenses? I think it’s putting more effort into user experience.

UX — Not Just a Pretty Interface

What’s your first thought when we talk about a good user experience? A beautiful interface? However, the truth is that a well-dressed page does not improve the user experience. As we try to add more and more content to the page, the loading speed will undoubtedly be sacrificed and that influences user experience. According to surveys, the average user stays on a website for only 53 seconds, and if it consumes about 3–4 seconds just to load, it can be said that it is more than worth it.

Satisfactory numbers

When you make an investment, the rate of return is without a doubt the most direct indicator. Everyone wants to be rewarded for their efforts, and investing in user experience is undoubtedly worth it for digital marketing. According to surveys, for every dollar invested in UX design, you’ll get $100 in return — a 9,990% return! That rate of return is hard to beat. According to 2022, the average digital marketing return is in the range of 5:1, which means that you can reap $5 for an investment of $1. This rate of return can be a far cry from the one gained by improving the user experience, so why not choose to start by improving the user experience?

Marketing’s Best Friend

For us marketers, UX is the secret sauce. It’s the silent ally in our quest for that perfect blend of brand image and customer satisfaction. It’s not just about keeping users around; it’s about turning them into lifelong fans. According to the survey, conversion rates tripled for sites that loaded instantly, and growth doubled for brands with top-notch user experiences. I can honestly say that most marketing operations, cannot achieve such high results. This effect doesn’t require a big investment, compared to large-scale advertising. Especially when the price of advertising keeps going up, trying to rely on advertising to attract users is better than thinking about how to retain the users who click on the site through a good user experience.

At the end of the article I’ve put up an infographic with all the benefits I see for improving page design as well as user experience, so feel free to have a discussion.
