The Fascinate Test

As a child, I used to be a fan of those short quizzes. Eager to know who my celebrity crush was or what ice-cream flavor best fit my personality. At the time, I believed all those results were true and took them to heart. However, as the years went by, I started becoming skeptical about the results and whether they were true or not. The Fascinate Test is actually one of the firsts personality tests I have taken in a while. I was intrigued to find out how others perceived me.

My Reaction

The Fascinate Test felt like any other personality test out there. However, I was surprised that most answers did not require much thinking. What I mean by this is that when taking a personality test you're usually stuck between two different answers on certain questions. However, during this test, I was able to answer every question without doubting my answers. The test was quick and questions where easy to read and understand. I felt like I could answer every question honestly and no answer felt like a wrong answer.

What is my Archetype?

I am The Maverick Leader, innovation being my primary advantage and power being my secondary advantage. I am set to lead without fear, being outspoken and always communicating my ideas. I like taking unconventional paths to achieve goals and am always coming up with creative new ideas. I think in both linear and nonlinear ways and am naturally outspoken which allows me to reach my goals no matter the situation. My dormant advantage is mystique because hiding my emotions, mood, or attitude is something I am not good at.

Did it Feel True?

The result surprisingly felt true! Most tests I have taken either tell me what I want to hear or are partially true but never entirely. As I was reading through the results everything made sense. I am a very outspoken person if anything all my friends know that I will always speak what is on my mind and am the worst at hiding emotions. I am confident about the choices I take and am goal-oriented in everything I do, including my daily activities. I have always thought of myself as an entrepreneur, thinking about better ways of doing things that already exist or developing something that would facilitate people’s lives. However, the creative part of my report had me doubting at first. I do not consider myself a creative person when it comes to making a website look nice or developing a brand logo. I had never thought of creativity in the sense of coming up with visionary ideas or new ways to achieve certain goals. In that sense, I do agree that I am very creative. My mind is usually going 100 miles per hour thinking of different ways in which we can do things differently.

How do you feel about the Fascination Idea?

I feel like the Fascination idea helps us understand ourselves and how others see us, our “brand”. We need to understand how people see us and our strengths in order to use them to our advantage because we are competing against millions of people that are similar to us. I loved the part of creating your anthem. This got me thinking about what makes me different and what I do best. I played around with the idea for a while and came up with two different anthems. I’m still not sure which one sounds best, maybe you guys can help me decide: “outspoken determination” vs. “do or die problem solver”.

This is an interesting exercise which I believe has helped me understand myself better. I have learned things about both my strengths and weaknesses and now know how to best use them in both professional and social situations. Hope you all enjoyed this as much as I did.
