I remember my first time taking a personality test was two months ago. The test is called Myers-Briggs. My friends asked me about my personality type and whether I took the Myers-Briggs personality test. I was a little curious because I had never taken the test before. Therefore, I became full of curiosity.

Thoughts on Sally Hogshead Ted Talk

Sally Hogshead creates the fascinate test. It consists of 28 questions to help people discover their strengths and personality. When we start this test, it takes about a maximum of ten minutes to complete the entire test. The results share what your archetype is and what your two advantages are. The personality question reflects what makes you valuable. I feel that the fascinate test is more about the value and guiding your brand for people’s careers in the future. Moreover, I think it is conducive for someone who faces trouble or understands themself in a competitive environment.

What is my archetype?

According to the test, my archetype is The Good Citizen, and my primary and secondary triggers are Trust and Alert. I am excited about my test result. Trust describes a person who is stable, dependable, and familiar. When you are a leader in the team and share some ideas with a positive attitude, you receive respect from others. Moreover, it’s what the chart describes above “You inspire other people to follow plans and to the goals.” I believe I am the person who has Trust triggers. As a team member, I like researching stable data and providing the correct information. When I am assigned the work, I will complete it on time and participate in every group discussion. I think that’s the most common reason and easy way to get respect and trust from my colleagues and friends. I prefer to bring stability and calm to situations.

In addition, Alert has become my secondary advantage. It describes a person who is proactive, organized, and detailed. I agree that I am an organized girl. For example, I’d like to keep my stuff in order and keep it organized in my studio. Because of that, it’s always easy for me to find my needs. As a student, I would like to list all my assignments and finish them on time. It’s my responsibility to get high quality and set high expectations for myself.

Did the result feel true to me?

I think the results describe some of my personality. Indeed, I am an organized person, and I always keep things under control to avoid unwelcomed surprises. My teammates relied on me to gather opinions and make decisions. Also, I wish for the best outcome whenever I make delicate plans and follow every step. However, I was not surprised by the result since the questions from the test were targeted. Many questions involve words like “independent,” “individuality,” “consistent,” and “stable.” These words would affect the test results. At the same time, they might cause overthinking because I think people are very likely to show different characteristics under different circumstances.

Learn to build a personal brand in my future career

The information gives me more thoughts on how to pursue my future career. Sometimes I am concerned that I could get easily influenced by the slightest detail. The test tells me that this could also become an advantage to discovering mistakes simultaneously. By taking care of every detail, I could complete complex tasks.

Additionally, this test also shows that I am capable, and might be good at, being a team leader. I could soothe the stress between team members because I am not afraid of facing and analyzing adverse outcomes. I could build procedures and encourage other members to finish projects efficiently because I am persistent and firm. I would help list the best options for the team when other members come up with various opinions and innovative ideas by keeping structured in chaotic situations.
