The small, unassuming Indiana town of Munster plays host to one of the most sought-after breweries in the world: 3 Floyds Brewing Co. Founded by three members of the Floyd family, the brewery has made a name for itself over the last 24 years with extreme beers that rarely use extreme ingredients.

Three Floyds Brewing is a brewery founded in 1996 by brothers Nick and Simon and their father Mike Floyd in Hammond, Indiana. Since 2000, the brewery has been in Munster, Indiana. Three Floyds opened a brewpub adjacent to the brewery in 2005. They closed the brewpub in 2020.

Although they have decided to close 3 Floyds Brewpub permanently, their official websites are still working. It is unique and interesting to explore.

Three Floyds Brewing uses detailed, can’t-be-missed, drawn artwork to complement the unique taste the brewery creates. To ensure people know they’re on the right website, the brewery animated the artwork from the cans, covering every page of the website with visually stimulating content that represents the brand well.

3 FLOYDS BEER IS BREWED IN AND WITH HEAVY METAL.

The interactive content of its website is very cool. Heavy metal and fantasy themes weave through everything the brewery does. From the design on the bottles, which feature armored humanoids, crowned skulls, and other menacing scenes, to brewing and even the events hosted at the brewery, the heavy metal influence is clear. All the pics they used on the brewery website are created by local artists.

Since 2010, 3 Floyds Brewing has collaborated with heavy metal bands to craft unique beers. The Creeper, a doppelbock, came out in 2010 and was brewed with the band Pelican to celebrate their 10th anniversary. Beers have also been crafted with help from Mastodon, Skeletonwitch, Exodus, and Amon Amarth. The connection to music is so strong for 3 Floyds that it even worked with a record store in Chicago called Reckless Records.

Three Floyds Beer’s unique heavy metal style has been followed by the website to maintain consistency. The entire page selected black, white, and red as the main colors. The overall tone is unified.
