When I first heard of the brand name Topo Chico, I thought it was a sparkling water and they usually sell in some Taco stores or in some Mexican restaurants, like Chipotle and Tacombi which is a taco restaurant in Long Island City.

How Topo Chico Got Popular in the U.S?

In 2017, Coke acquired Topo Chico. The sparkling mineral water is a cult favorite among Texans, but the beverage giant has been expanding its distribution since the deal.

In July 2021, when Coca-Cola teased plans to launch a spiked version of its popular Topo Chico sparkling mineral water in the U.S. The soda giant has signed an exclusive agreement with Molson Coors to “manufacture, market and distribute” Topo Chico Hard Seltzer in the U.S. beginning in early 2021.

According to a news release, Molson Coors will bring its “marketing, sales and distribution expertise” to the table for a scaled national launch, and initial production runs will be outsourced to a third-party manufacturer to minimize supply chain disruptions.

The reason Coca-Cola made this decision is because the partnership between the two companies appears to be a mutually beneficial one. It solves significant production and distribution challenges for Coca-Cola, while giving Molson Coors yet another new weapon in its growing arsenal of brands. Also, Topo Chico could become popular and this will expand the market for Topo Chico.

Events — Interactive Content

Three weeks ago, Topo Chico opened a night of “A Better View” group art show at Atlanta, GA. This event brings people together to see the gallery and provide Topo Chico products while they enter the show. I think this event could bring better marketing for Topo Chico and make people buy the products from the brand.
