Truly and MINNIDIP Summer Collab is So On Brand

Summertime in New York is all about going out and having fun. For some of us (me included), part of having fun is having a drink, and what better drink to cool you down than a nice, cold seltzer?

Truly is definitely one of my first choices when it comes to seltzers. They have so many flavors, and though they’re a bit too sweet, I can’t lie and say they aren’t delicious. They definitely have a strong presence during the summer, which is why their social media collaboration with an inflatable pool brand is so smart.

Truly x MINNIDIP Collaboration

Truly’s branding is a lot about fun, and in the summer, it’s about fun in the sun. This summer, they’ve decided to exhibit this idea by posting their collaboration with MINNIDIP, a designer inflatable pool brand, on Instagram. With this collab, MINNIDIP is selling a limited edition inflatable pool with a matching drink floatie, which are designed with the Truly Poolside Pack in mind (another summer collab they did with popstar Dua Lipa).

The Giveaway

To kick off the collaboration, Truly and MINNIDIP have decided to do a giveaway on both of their Instagram accounts, where they will give away a pool, a drink floatie, a cooler, and swimwear to 15 winners. To qualify, you have to like the post, follow the Instagram accounts of both brands, and tag a friend in the comments. That sounds easy enough, and who doesn’t love free stuff?

An On Brand Collaboration

This collaboration is so smart, as it fits very well with both brands and is a great sell for the summer. As a pool brand, MINNIDIP’s sales spike in the summer, so it’s smart for them to get their brand out there during this time, and to do so with a brand as well known as Truly. Truly’s sales also spike in the summer, so doing something fun like a collaboration only strengthens their presence, and this new idea can draw in more customers.

The giveaway is great as well, because we all love free stuff, especially when it doesn’t take a lot on our part to win. By asking users to like and follow in order to participate, they’re increasing their followers and engagement, getting more people to keep an eye out for their brand while making it easy for users to get involved. Asking them to tag a friend is also great, as it gets even more people to become aware of the brand and excited about what they have to offer, getting more possible clients.

Collaborations are also great because it allows companies to advertise themselves to new clients. Doing this with a brand with similar branding and ideals is even smarter, because the fans of the brand can easily be appealed to by who they’re collaborating with. This Instagram collaboration taps into this for both Truly and MINNIDIP, as their respective followers have lots in common when it comes to behavior and ideas, since both brands are about summer fun, and can help each brand tap into a new set of customers.

A timely and on brand collaboration is always a good idea, so whoever thought this one up deserves props.
