Have you ever sent out a tweet and immediately regretted it?

The social network Twitter began testing the function to undo tweets. Researcher Jane Manchun Huang noted this option. Judging from the image, after submission, it will give users a chance to cancel a tweet even after hitting the send button, in case you’ve noticed a typo or some other mistake at the last moment.a timer is started, during which time you can unpublished.

Over the years, Twitter users have called on the platform to add an “edit” option so they can correct annoying grammatical errors that always happened on your best tweets. According to the interview, Twitter has repeatedly said this will not happen.

Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey:

“The reason we don’t have edit in the first place is we were built on SMS, we were built on text messaging. Once you send a text, you can’t take it back. So when you send a tweet it goes to the world instantaneously. You can’t take it back. You could build it as such so maybe we introduce a 5-second to 30-second delay in the sending. And within that window, you can edit. The issue with going longer than that is it takes that real-time nature of the conversational flow out of it”.

But there are signs that there may be compromises, such as pressing “tweets” to recall it. As the video below, you can get more information about this function.

Reflection

In my own opinion, every new technical support happened will bring both positive and negative affect. It will help people to better publish their tweets without any unexpected mistake. Also, it may build a good way to reduce cyber-violence. Nowadays. a lot of people hide behind the screen and make offensive comments, causing some psychological trauma. such as, receive harassment on social media and loss confident by some attack comments. I hope this “recall” button can give people more seconds to think about their speech after hit the publish button. Before you post some opinions, think about a more polite way.

I believe when we think about more the way that express oneself. The World will full of love & hope!

We look forward to the official launch of this feature, although it may also have a negative impact. But there is no progress without change, and we will never get better to improve it without discovering new features.
