According to the ADWEEK website, Twitter and Shopify unveiled a new partnership at Cannes Lions. Shopify connected with Twitter to sell products which could help business development.

What is Shopify and What does it do?

Shopify is a Canadian multinational e-commerce company headquartered in Ottawa, Ontario. It is also the name of its proprietary e-commerce platform for online stores and retail point-of-sale systems. According to Shopify website, it can create and customize an online store and sell in multiple places, including web, mobile, social media, online marketplaces, brick-and-mortar locations, and pop-up shops. Also, it can manage products, inventory, payments, and shipping.

Why is Shopify connected to Twitter?

Shopify wants to help merchants to unlock opportunity to reach their customers on Twitter. From my personal perspective, I think it will help Shopify to gain more customers on Twitter. Since Twitter is a platform that emerge lots of people and it is a social media platform which people use everyday. Not only Twitter have the shopping section, also Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook have the shopping section on their platform. Furthermore, it could bring more customers to Shopify and bring more users to Twitter at the same time. Therefore, they both can win the benefit from it.

How does it Work in Twitter?

People can connect their Twitter account to their Shopify admin with a few clicks and onboard onto Twitter’s Shopping Manager, the entry point into its suite of commerce tools, as well as other free tools the social network is building for professionals. The shopping list on the Twitter will be automatically update from the Shopify website and merchants don’t have to upload or update by themselves.

Twitter began testing Campaign Planner last November, and it is now available to all managed advertisers in Japan, the U.K. and the U.S.
