About Larabar

Larabar is one of my favorite brands, and its products taste very good. And its packaging is very bright and beautiful, which is why I bought the product in the supermarket. In a busy life, if I don’t have a full meal, I usually choose larabar products to supplement my energy. Therefore, after I learned the website UX design in the class, I wanted to choose the Larabar website for my first experiment.

The colour and construct of Larabar Website.

The color design aesthetics of Larabar’s web pages are like the packaging of products, using bright and saturated colors, which are the same on mobile phones and computers. If there is Tiffany blue in the jewelry field, then I think there is also a Larabar color system in the snack industry, which is in line with Larabar’s brand culture -clean, colorful, captivating-sprang to life. Using blue as the background color also increases trust for the website

In terms of the structural design of the web page, there are apparent differences between the computer and mobile pages. On the computer web page, Larabar placed all the category options, such as product, story, and purpose, on the top. But on the mobile phone, you need to click an icon in the upper right corner of the web page to display it. I think this design improves the user experience of mobile web browsers because the page of the mobile phone is small so that the design can reduce the probability of consumers pressing wrongly. Also, it is different from the horizontal display of products on computer web pages, all products are arranged vertically on the mobile page, which is also a good design to improve the user experience

The content from Larabar Website

In terms of content, computer and mobile phone pages use pictures and text to introduce what Larabar looks like, which makes consumers who are not familiar with Larabar understand what the brand is as soon as possible.

Behind the introduction of the brand is the introduction of different products of Larabar. In this section, when we move the cursor over the picture of the product, the specific name of the product will be displayed. After clicking inside, we will see the image of the ingredients contained in it. When you move the cursor over the ingredients picture, the professional name of the ingredient also will be displayed, which is the same design on mobile phones and computers. I think such a design enhances the fun and interactivity of the website, making consumers willing to spend time learning about products and brands on the site. Also, the primary consumers of Larabar are very concerned about the ingredients of the product. Such a design can provide the most important and most satisfying information in a short period.
Except for the product introduction, the website still takes into account the brand introduction. Using video and text makes it easier for consumers to choose based on their time and equipment. Regardless of the format, Larabar is trying to avoid using large text descriptions as much as possible, which is also a meaningful way to speed up the conversion of web pages and reduce the bounce rate.

Dose Larabar website encourage people to purchase?

I believe that no matter what industry or company, the primary goal pursued is to encourage consumers to buy. Only by translating people’s ideas into action can the company increase revenues and profits and grow further. Larabar’s website, whether it’s a mobile phone or a computer page, can see the purchase icon everywhere. When you click the buy button, the webpage will pop up the prices and packaging sizes from major online retailers. When a consumer decides a retailer, they will jump directly to the purchase page. The more convenient the purchase method, the more likely that consumers will buy.

Summary and recommendations

In general, Larabar’s website design is very consistent with its brand culture, and it effectively incorporate the hallmarks of a fascinating message, clean, colorful, captivating. The content of the entire webpage is very useful and not boring, which can make people browse in a pleasant mood. Although there is no AI service, the website provides a very comprehensive contact method for consumers to ask for help and feedback.
However, when using the pagespeedtest to analyze, it is obvious that the crore for the mobile page score is only 49, but the computer page score is 90. Therefore, for Larabar, there is still a lot of room for improving the website on mobile . May not only need to reduce text, in order to improve the convenience of mobile phone users, they should also streamline content such as pictures and videos.
