ASOS, changing the game for online fashion

One of my personal pet peeves is having to return clothing bought online, I would rather waste my time going to a store and trying everything on and either purchasing it later online or right there in person. This is because as easy as it is to click “buy” its so many more steps to return a product. This is a really big struggle for me as ASOS is one of my top clothing stores to shop at, as it has such a vast variety of clothing for any occasion.

ASOS especially was always a hassle in terms of having to return and customer service as they do not have a direct customer service line and almost everything is handled through facebook messenger.

ASOS stepped it up during the pandemic as they created a tool that uses augmented reality for customers to see how an outfit would look on different body sizes and how it would fit them online. Customers could put their information online and see a model that has about the same shape as them wearing the clothing.

This is huge for the online fashion world, as it helps people who are shopping not have to be worried about “oh how will it look on me” “will it fit” because a lot of the times the models in the original pictures trying on the clothing do not fit the criteria. This has also been a success for ASOS since launching their sales have increased over 24%. This is really the future of online shopping, and personally if more stores used these types of AR tools, I would never step into an actual store ever again!
