Update on Proposals Process: Phase II Begins Now

Following our January 15th call for proposals, we received a varied set of 89 submissions from around the world. A representative group of Marketing DAO Members sifted through these proposals, and we eliminated 30 of them that didn’t fit our intended objectives.

There were a variety of ideas, scattered along the following interest areas:

Our elimination criteria centered on the following parameters.

- project didn’t fit our mandate/focus

- budget ask was not realistic or too high

- not enough description, or not convincing enough

- benefited one company/project and not Ethereum as whole

What’s Next?

The teams behind the remaining 59 proposals are now being invited to submit more detailed information that would make eligible for Marketing DAO funding. The deadline for this next set of submissions will be just prior to EthDenver where several members of the Ethereum Marketing DAO will provide an update to the Ethereum community.

We expect that some early projects will receive funding in the mid-March timeframe, pending the fulfillment of our own funding commitments from the funders of the Ethereum Marketing DAO.

As part of this next phase, we will ask the proposal owners to submit a 30-second Pepo video about their projects. Should they choose to allow us to make it public, the Ethereum Marketing DAO team will select some of these videos to highlight during their Feb 13th DAOfest presentation.

Our goal is not only to bring forward the best projects, but also to make them look at their best, in order to help the funders make their decisions.
