K2 P&D locks your account

K2 Package and Deployment Tool locks user account when creating package.

Problem Description

If your account, that is being used for K2 P&D (Package and Deployment), get’s locked out while creaing the package, you might want to check the SSO settings in K2 Workspace.

Solution

When SSO is used for your current user account for the K2 Security Label and your password changed recently, the credentials are out of date which leads to the lock-out.

In my experience you can simply remove your credentials for the K2 Security Label. The entry does not actually get removed, but it is not being used for accessing K2 via SSO in the future.

  1. Navigate to the SSO settings in K2 Workspace (from the environment where you want to create the package from)
K2 Workspace - User Settings - SSO
  1. Check the entry for your account and click “Remove Credentials”
K2 Workspace - User Settings - SSO - Remove Credentials

After this you should be able to create packages without your account being locked-out.

Hopefully this was also the reason in your case why K2 P&D locks your account.
