‘Hey, did I miss anything?’
Jacob was the last to arrive. He was a little out of breath. He smiled at Avi as he took a seat. Danny slid the final unclaimed pint of beer over toward him.
‘Nope,’ Danny said. ‘Avi was just telling us how all of a sudden, his sweet wife seems ready to sleep with someone else.’
‘Oh,’ Jacob said, his face turning serious. He patted Avi on the shoulder. ‘You must be feeling a bit queasy, my friend.’
‘Something like that.’ Avi tried to offer a cautious smile.
‘Well, you guys weren’t exactly going easy on them the other night,’ Marshall said.
‘Speak for yourself,’ Jacob laughed. ‘You were hitting on Thea so hard, I was about to offer her a crash helmet.’
