The Transsexual Cargo Cult
During World War 2 Melanesian tribes in the South Pacific came into contact with the Allied militaries fighting their way across the Pacific. Many of these tribes were uncontacted or had very little contact prior to the conflict. To these neolithic hunter gatherers the sudden appearance of literal armies of people who not only looked different but were technologically far more advanced was a profound moment. They were effectively ripped from a hand to mouth existence that characterizes a hunter gatherer people just coming to grips with agriculture to a time where airplanes and iron ships existed. This collision left some severe marks on their cultures. Today we are going to look at the theological product of this milieu, Cargo Cults, as well as a modern version of a Cargo Cult.
During World War 2, the Allies fought a massive campaign across the Pacific theatre. The goal was to wrest control of the Pacific from the hands of Imperial Japan. One of the strategies employed was to construct forward air bases on strategic Pacific islands, allowing the Allies to bomb Japanese infrastructure on islands held by Japan and later to bomb the Japanese home islands. Ignoring the morality of bombing civilian populations for a moment and looking at this in practice. The Allies hopped from island to island, on each one constructing a rudimentary air base and garrisoning troops and personnel. For the islanders this meant the sudden influx of technology and (mostly) white people was a double whammy. Not only were there now more people than they had ever seen before, but they looked strange and they had mountains of food and technology.
Of course this being the 1940s and white people being white people, the Allies didn’t necessarily harm the tribes but they didn’t exactly welcome them into the tent either. They were simply local tribes uninvolved in the conflict and mostly treated as an annoying side show.
One must bear in mind that for the islanders, the world was limited to the island they lived on and that which they could reach with dugout canoe. They had no concept of the world beyond those limits. The profound impact that a simple can of spam would have had on these people cannot be exaggerated. The idea that food could be prepared on the other side of the world. Packed in a can and put on an airplane or ship. Then eaten on an island in the Pacific must have been mind bending. The outcome of this mixture of two very different peoples and technology was that the islanders started trying to explain what they saw through a lens they understood, religion. The islanders began to believe the technology and cargo associated with the allies were actually constructed by the islanders’ ancestors for the islanders benefit. The Allied personnel however had somehow usurped them and gained control of the resources. Looking critically at the allied soldiers they came to the conclusion that the actions they saw soldiers performing were in fact elaborate rituals designed to signal to the ancestors where and when to deliver the cargo. The uniforms and equipment on the airfields being seen as props to facilitate the rituals. This led to the islanders building entire air bases out of bamboo, reeds and timber, and complete with homespun uniforms, they ritually imitated the Allied soldiers. These rituals, mythologies and theologies became known as “Cargo Cults” and while mostly dying out over the last 80 years some still persist. The cult of John Frum on Tanna being a notable example.
While there is a large volume of context one must take into account when trying to understand Cargo Cults, similar precautions can be dropped when considering Trans meds.
One cannot honestly look at the interactions and moments that led to the development of Cargo Cults and think the Melanesian tribes were superstitious fools. They looked at unexplainable phenomena and found a solution consistent with their prior culture.
Trans meds on the other hand, did what evangelical Christians do. They invented an entire theology based on a failure to understand basic things. Transmeds don’t understand the evolution of medical terms and Evangelical Christians don’t understand that Jesus was a brown socialist.
Towards the late 1700s the enlightenment had taken hold of all levels of society and people started studying people properly. They left behind the religious crap and started critically looking at the human being and its society. Unfortunately one of the products of this new study of humanity was eugenics. Another product was the birth of concepts like homosexuality, heterosexuality and transsexuality. The way we describe human sexuality, sexual orientation and gender are direct descendants of this process.
One of the first academics to seriously look at trans people was Magnus Hirschfeld. First describing the people we now call transgender as “transvestites” which would later come to mean “cross dressing”. As his understanding deepened he started describing a form of psychological or mental transsexual state, he used the term “seelischer transsexualismus” (https://zagria.blogspot.com/2023/02/did-hirschfeld-coin-word-and-concept.html). Later Harry Benjamin and David Cauldwell would expand this thinking and in the early 1950s introduce the term “transsexual” to the anglosphere. Transsexual became the standard term in use across the medical environment to describe what we now call transgender people.
In the 1950s John Money was one of the notable people shifting to the modern conception of gender as a distinct entity from sex. This idea was expanded on and within scientific circles starting around the 1960s “transsexual” started to become replaced by the term “transgender”.
The term “transsexual” has always described the same concept that “transgender” does now. There is certainly an argument to make that transgender people are a form of intersex. This was the conception in Europe in the early part of the 20th century. It was only later in the USA that being transgender was shifted to a psychological conception. That all aside, transsexual doesn’t mean someone who has “medically transitioned” or “has had the surgery”.
Transgender only came into use as it was believed that it was a more accurate term to describe gender incongruence. Much like the word “woman” is not being redefined, we are just coming to understand the category “woman” includes a wider array of people than we thought it did prior. Woman still means an adult human female, its just we now accept transgender women as women or female as well. Transsexual has always meant the same as transgender, we just found a more accurate construction of the term.
And this is where we find our transsexuals and their cargo cult. People like Buck Angel are desperate to separate themselves from “transgender” people. They see themselves as “the good transes”, not like those weirdos with their neo pronouns and wokeness. They seek to ingratiate themselves with the regressive conservatives by drawing a distinction between themselves, the acceptable trans people, and those degenerate abusers of the English language with the blue hair and odd socks. Transmeds do this by creating the theology of transsexualism.
“Transsexuals” attempt to segregate themselves from the nefarious transgenders by creating an entire mythology by putting words in the mouths of the people who invented the terms. In this new theology, transgender means a person who feels they are a different gender from their gender assigned at birth. Whereas the transsexual is a person with a mental disorder. Or in some variants of transsexuality, only transgender people who have had “the surgery” graduate to being real transsexuals. They seek to paint transgender people as a separate entity driven and characterized by feelings and identities. They then ascribe a diagnosis to themselves and seek legitimacy through suffering and medical terminology. According to this theology, Magnus Hirschfeld et al created two separate categories of trans people, one mentally unstable and fickle, the other a noble suffering victim of biology askew.
The problem they face is that in exactly none of the bills before American legislatures does the text say “except for transsexuals, they can get medical care and change their birth certificates and use bathrooms consistent with their gender”. The LGB Alliance, Posie Parker, the Tories, the DRR and Orban himself don’t draw a distinction between transgender people and transsexual people. In the eyes of all the conservative elements that transsexuals seek to appease, the transsexuals are still degenerate scum. Blaire White can cosy up to Ben Shapiro and Steven Crowder all she likes, it won’t change the fact those two will misgender her and vote against her well being.
Cults are harmful and they always lead to the worship of a false prophet. The false prophet transmeds have chosen is right wing ideology. They hope that by turning on the rest of the trans community they can buy respectability within their cult. Unfortunately for today’s crop of transmeds, respectability cannot be bought from a shop that does not sell it. There is no respectability in hate and bigotry. Today’s conservatives are not respectable people, they are a hate cult and so is the Cargo Cult of Transsexualism.
