Akamai Finalizes Acquisition of SOASTA

Akamai Technologies Inc., a provider of content delivery network (CDN) services, has recently completed its acquisition of SOASTA, a digital performance management company. Akamai announced the closing agreement between the bodies, following which Akamai will acquire SOASTA in an all-cash transaction.

The merger combines the teams and technologies of the two companies into an extensive set of business optimization and cloud-based solutions. These include the tools that enable customers to validate, measure and optimize the overall business impact of their website performance strategies.

Senior Vice President and General Manager of the Web Experience Division at Akamai, Ash Kulkarni, stated that the delivery of top-quality digital experiences holds first priority for the company. He said that the addition of SOASTA’s technology to Akamai’s portfolio of web performance solutions will enhance it significantly. Customers can avail of new ways to gain better insight into the correlation between business outcomes and the performance of their website.

Akamai Technologies provides cloud-based services to enterprises, facilitating optimization of the user experience. It offers solutions in the digital media, cyber security, SaaS, cloud computing, video streaming, IaaS, and content delivery spaces. Founded in 1998, it went public the following year in 1999.
