One of Hollywood’s most infamous actors, Robert Downey Jr, credits martial arts with helping him overcome his addictions. RDJ, most popular for his role as Iron Man, battled drug addiction for several years resulting in multiple arrests and a stint in jail. In a recent interview with Joe Rogan, the actor detailed his experiences with Wing Chun that not only aided his recovery but also helped him to become more grounded and focused. He does many of his own stunts due to his dedication to the arts.

A host of martial artists turned stuntmen including Alan Moussai and Tony Jaa will pair up with Nicholas Cage in an upcoming martial arts fantasy action film. ‘Jiu-Jitsu’, based on a comic book by Logothetis and Jim McGrath, takes place on the planet of jiu-jitsu where every 6 years a battle against alien invaders occurs in defense of planet Earth.

The Sports Authority of Thailand has partnered with the Tourism and Sports Industry to launch the Hero Series in an attempt to draw new fans to martial arts during the Covid-19 pandemic. An elite night of Muay Thai will be held at Bangkok’s World Siam Stadium this weekend showcasing both champions and rising talent.
