What is Martini Shot?

Martini shot is a publication focusing on film, TV, and internet commentary and reviews. The phrase “Martini Shot” means the final shot before wrapping the rest of the shooting day. To us, that means putting our best foot forward even after what might mean a long and difficult day. Even if a shot is small, it doesn’t mean it’s unimportant. Here at Martini Shot, we like to try to see the glass as half full and look at the positives. This doesn’t mean not giving criticism when it is well deserved but understanding that some people like things shaken and others stirred. If you are interested in writing, please do the following things.

  1. Tell an interesting story- add your own perspective, voice, and style. We want to feel like we are reading an interesting story, not a Wikipedia page.
  2. Make sure stories have style, correct grammar, and flow nicely (you know the basics)
  3. Have a strong point-basically we should know your opinion and what you're talking about.
  4. Have fun!
  5. Things to avoid- we do not accept any stories that support any homophobia, sexism, racism, or general hatred of any minority group/people.
  6. Have a cover image- it doesn’t have to be too flashy but make sure to cite any images that are free/yours.
