g-d & parents

some speak of parents
others talk of G-d
as though they both are
of the same achievement
caste or status
i dont believe in G-d
and as my mom reminds me often
i have to thank no G-d but her
to breathe and live
to walk on earth
and see the moon
and love a man
and have my own child
she says i would be nothing
if not for her and pain
she went through
during labor
i guess she’s right
if not for her
i’d never hear of religion
and Mary Jesus Christ
and churches with those shiny
golden domes
but is this something
to be thankful for?
