when the rays of light
seep through
a leafy crown
of the dome-shaped tree
who stands so still
under the traveling lamp
of Phoebus

when rivers charge
their smaller childless brooks
with liquid snowy goo
that pumps new life
into the motherly mass
of an ocean

when rains speak tears first
but then alight the sky
with buoyant rainbows
and fuzzy fleecy clouds

when silky downy male birds
perform quick curtsies to females
in sopranos
sparing idle words

when …

then …
your hand with slender
long and gentle fingers
will trace the crimson
of my lips
before I dare speak
the words of love
