25,000-square-foot Wayland country estate sold for $5 million this week

The Greater Boston suburbs strutted their stuff when it came to home sales this week, with massive sales in Weston, Brookline, and Wellesley — the largest of all was a 25,000-square-foot home Wayland, which sold for a whopping $5 million.

This country estate on 11 acres of land with 25,400 square feet of living space sold for $5 million on May 2, well above Wayland’s $658,700 median home value. This four-floor house has an elevator, sweeping views, and obviously, plenty of room for entertaining. There’s also a pool with a pool house on the estate.
On April 29, this home with seven bedrooms, seven full bathrooms, two half bathrooms, and 9,700 square feet of living space sold for $3,877,500, above Wellesley’s already high $1,166,300 median home value. The four-floor home has a bridal staircase, detailed moldings, custom cabinetry, designer bathrooms, and smart house technology.
A recently renovated 1920 home in Brookline, this house with five bedrooms, 4.5 bathrooms, and 3,744 square feet of living space sold for $3,200,000 on May 3, above the town’s $746,400 median home price. The renovation was done with a focus on being eco-friendly, as the home has a geothermal heating/cooling system and a recycled plastic and bamboo composite deck with a rain water collection system. The backyard has a stone patio, a rose garden, a fire pit, and a hot tub.
On April 29, this newly construction Weston home with five bedrooms, 6.5 bathrooms, and 8,500 square feet of living space sold for $3,180,000, above Weston’s $1,362,000 median home value. The home has 1.4 acres of land, a banquet-style dining room, a finished lower level, and plenty of room to put in a pool.
