As a Mass Digital project manager, you will lead cross-functional teams to deliver large-scale data and analytics projects using agile methodologies, while building capacity for innovation in government.

Our Data PMs are:

  • PMs who can manage at both a big-picture level, and detailed scrum board level, to manage day-to-day project work and ensure alignment with project objectives
  • Strategic thinkers who generate strong project plans, build buy-in across stakeholders, and design and implement measurable strategies to achieve project goals
  • Leaders who know how to motivate cross-functional teams to build the right thing

Specifically, they:

  • Create and maintain project strategies, roadmaps, and budgets, and develop communications strategies to support project goals
  • Manage project work within one or more cross-functional teams on an organized, up-to-date project board (e.g. JIRA) using agile methodologies
  • Work with business and technology partners to solicit and document business requirements and translate them into technical requirements to build project scopes and plans
  • Anticipate and manage risks to timelines and budgets to eliminate obstacles and ensure timely completion of deliverables
  • Develop and document technical standards, practices, and policies
  • Facilitate technical support, including architectural and compliance reviews
  • Lead internal team meetings and engagement meetings with managers, leadership, and other stakeholders

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • 2+ years as a project manager, preferably in a data or IT related field
  • 2+ years working in an Agile environment; strong, demonstrated project organization skills, including with PM software tools
  • Experience managing project ‘boards,’ leading team stand-ups and slating/grooming/demo sessions
  • Adept at evaluating and addressing project obstacles and drawing on the right resources at the right time to solve problems
  • Experience creating and implementing project plans and schedules that meet project objectives
  • Able to build agile project budgets and timelines and deliver within them
  • Working, up-to-date knowledge of data tools and technologies
  • Excellent human relations skills; able to work effectively with leadership, business managers, technical resources, and varied stakeholders to meet project objectives
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical, user experience, and project management trade-offs; enthusiastic communicator
  • Strong bias towards action; ability to step up into team gaps and ambiguous situations to structure the team’s action plan
  • An adaptive, empathetic, collaborative, and positive mindset

Distinguished Qualifications:

  • Solid understanding of data analysis and development processes and problems
  • Working familiarity with cloud-based processing platforms (e.g. AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
  • Demonstrated interest public-sector work; experience delivering projects to government clients
  • Experience delivering large-scale data analytics or engineering projects, particularly involving multiple and diverse clients
  • Agile certifications
