What is Cryptocurrency Airdrop?
A cryptocurrency airdrop is to distribute free tokens or coins to existing cryptocurrency holders, or to users who complete certain tasks or meet certain requirements.
The idea behind airdrops is to create awareness of the new cryptocurrency project and incentivize users to become involved in the project. Airdrops can be a way to create a wider user base, increase liquidity, or reward loyal users.
To participate in an airdrop, you will typically need to perform certain actions, such as following the project on social media, joining a Telegram group, or completing a survey. Once you meet the requirements, the tokens or coins will be sent to your wallet.
As with any investment or cryptocurrency-related opportunity, it’s important to exercise caution and do your own research before participating in an airdrop.
Types of Crypto Airdrops
Standard Airdrop:
Participants of standard crypto airdrop are interested in receiving an airdrop. The individuals must provide a valid wallet address. This often limits distribution of the token on how many each individual can receive.
Bounty airdrops:
These are airdrops that are distributed to users who complete specific tasks, such as writing a blog post, creating a video, or promoting the project on social media. These airdrops are intended to incentivize users to help spread the word about the project.
Holder Airdrop:
This is a method to distribute to existing holders of a specific cryptocurrency. For example, a project may distribute free tokens to all holders of Polygon, as a way to attract new users to their own platform.
Exclusive Airdrop:
It is a more specific type of holder airdrop. The difference between Holder Airdrop and Exclusive Airdrop is they may be selected not based on the amount of tokens they have but based on other elements such as time spent on a project, most money spent on non-token activity, or number of posts in a forum.
How to claim an airdrop?
The process will vary depending on the projects. But the most important thing you need for claiming an airdrop is a cryptocurrency wallet. For our airdrop event, we are collecting the user address of Intella X wallet and users should finish several steps of missions which are really easy to follow!
