Masternever confronts his fear and continues his journey…

As Arious laid next to Judi on the apartment floor, he felt overwhelmed. A sudden surge of energy welled up from within.

He sat up and put on his clothes. Judi noticed him getting dressed.

“Are you leaving?” she asked.

“I have to go. There are some things that I must take care of” he replied.

“If it involves the Jai family, I want to help” said Judi.

Judi stood up and put on her shirt. Arious turns towards Judi and grabbed her firmly.

“I have to go!” he repeated. He was calm, but Judi felt the firmness in his voice. She realized that he had to go alone.

He kissed her and then walked out of the apartment, closing the door.

It was dark as the evening approached. Arious ran towards his parent’s restaurant, which was only a few blocks away from Meng’s apartment.

He reached the rear entrance, removed his cap, and entered to find both Yung and Sue working in the kitchen. He stood in the door and while he had often taken his parent’s tasks for granted, at that moment, he appreciated their every movement.

Yung studied Arious, he noticed that his son’s eyes watered.

Yung stopped chopping vegetables and wiped his hands on his apron. Sue looked on with concern.

“Arious are you okay?” asked Yung.

Arious said nothing. Yung placed a hand on his shoulder.

“Arious, what’s wrong. Why are you upset?” Sue asked.

“I have to go” said Arious tearfully.

He backed away from them and took a deep breath.

“I love you both” he said.

He then turned and walked out of the back door.

Yung followed Arious into the alley. Sue looked at her husband.

The two of them did not know what was going on, but they suspected that Arious had done something wrong since the police visited them days earlier.

Arious continued into the dark night, not knowing what lays ahead.
